How can this novel be worth $6.61.? More like $1.99.
I had a problem getting into this book. The heroine is not likeable at all. She was too emotional.
Yes i got it! She was abandoned by her parents due to their many addictions, but did we have to be told this on every other page??!!
The hero too, was just too perfect! Nothing entirely wrong with that but a little bit of reality please ....
The heroine, Lanier, kept saying she is changing, becoming a stronger, better, less reliant on her past woman. I waited for that change in vain!
Arggh, all round a very disappointing book, and won't be giving this author another try.
The 2 stars are just because i got to the end, but i really really didn't like it.
Will not recommend!!
Lanier Watson was abandoned by her parents and went through a horrifying experience through the foster care system. Now Lanier is a foster mother to three young adults who are going away to college. Lanier and her friend Ashleigh are the head of Haven House. Dallas Carrington, one of triplets is a baseball player for the Texas Hurricanes. He has always been in love with Lanier and asked her to marry him several times. Lanier has turned him down because of her insecurities so Dallas decides to break up with her.
I was slow to warm up to this story and it took me some time to finish reading. Lanier spent most of the book having a "pity party." Maybe disappointed if you purchase. Better off checking out a copy from your local public library if you decide to read.
