4.0 out of 5 stars It will Never Be Over 8 Dec. 2008
By Gerardo Martinez Casas - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
as long as there are people that like to sing and send words into others ears for whatever reason comes to mind ... This is a band that requires to have lived with it , in other words is not my corner but i like it ...

4.0 out of 5 stars The "Editorial Review" is Way Off 27 Sept. 2011
By Dean Orff - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
The "Editorial Review" above is way off. This is defintely Not "new wave keyboard-driven pop" and it also never had "2-3 years of radio hits." It never had Any radio hits. But the Dream Syndicate were one of the great unsung, under-appreciated (sort of alternative)guitar-rock bands of the 1980's, inspired by the Stones, the Doors, Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground; and their "Best of" Should be a 5-Star album. The only reason it's not: whoever selected the songs for this at Rhino Records company let their personal preferences and desire to fit with early '90s grunge hipness get in the way of logic..................The Dream Syndicate only had 3 songs that were promoted to radio and MTV with singles and/or videos. "I Have Faith" is on this collection --- "Still Holding On to You" and "Slide Away" are NOT. Those 3 songs probably had the most mass appeal potential of all the band's music. They should all be here...........Other great Dream Syndicate songs with ear-catching melodies, lyrics, and guitar riffs/solos left off of this CD,include: "Dancing Blind", "Daddy's Girl" (one of the band's top MP3 songs), "Black", or even the Live version of "Tell Me When It's Over." ..............All that being said, this is still a worthwhile collection, especially if you are of the '90s or current generation, or if you liked the Dream Syndicate's early punk-influenced stuff best. The songs that are left off appeal more to either the band's older fans or people who prefer classic rock over alternative..............The best and most Economical Dream Syndicate starting point for over-40 types: the (Bruce Springsteen-influenced)"Ghost Stories" CD, followed by the MP3's of the above-mentioned songs.
