Telephone is the second track from Lifesigns, probably yours truly's favourite album of 2013 thus far. This is probably the most commercial of the five stellar compositions on it and has been slightly abbreviated for this single version.

Playing on it are the three Lifesigns members - John Young on keyboards and vocals, Nick Beggs on bass and vocals and Martin "Frosty" Beedle on drums with guest guitarist Jakko Jakszyk.

Catchy and infectious, it features some splendid vocals from John with harmonies by Nick which sit beautifully over the understated melody line, picked up along the way by keyboards, bass and guitar.

It is a song which deserves mainstream radio play because of its profound pop sensibilities. Rest assured, you will be humming it still long after it has finished.

This is beautiful, a great song for the summer, great voice and harmonies, it won't leave my head...in a good way
Old school and modern, I started off trying to liken it to things but ended up just digging it. Great band, will definitely get the album.

I enjoyed this - it's fitted in very nicely with the beautiful weather we've been having, the feel of the melody & rhythm lend themselves nicely to a warm sunny day. It's also made me want to hear the rest of the album..... Reminds me a bit of Mr Mister, the vocals in particular. Good!

The lead single from John Young's Lifesigns project/album is just a taster of what the full CD offers. It’s intro dominated by Nick Beggs (yes he of Kajagoogoo fame) rolling bass riff. JY’s clear vocals are soon joined by Nick’s high harmonies which add to the tracks Yes like quality. Jakko Jakszyk's (King Crimson) guitar work links the section of the song which returns to the strong bass line for its close. Also featuring Robin Boult (Howard Jones) on guitar & Martin 'Frosty' Beedle (Cutting Crew) on drums. Many have already discovered this prog gem but if this is your first taste I'm sure you will want to sample the full blown effect of the full product.
