Hi, ok this review will be subjective but I wanted to give my impressions of this chair and the nearest comparable one on Amazon because a friend of mine bought the Lindo chair 6 months ago and, although I like it, there are a couple of things that led me to buy the Cobham, which arrived yesterday.

First, the Lindo's headrest is fixed - I like to listen to music or watch a movie in a reclined position - in the Lindo you end up staring at the ceiling...don't know about you but my ceiling isn't that interesting. Having said that, although the Cobham headrest is fully adjustable, it doesn't seem very firm and so moves about a little bit, but I think it'll be ok once in position.

Secondly, the Lindo "clunks" very loudly as you move position (as you recline/sit forward) - this doesn't seem to be an issue unique to my friend's chair as I've read reviews of the Lindo where other buyers have had the same problem. So far I have had no such problem with the Cobham.

I was also concerned about assembling the Lindo - my friend took HOURS to put the Lindo together (he's not that much of a thicky either) - and the "cross-threading" issue many buyers seem to have had - he didn't but I did hear him cuss a bit at the awkwardness of some aspects of assembling it (hmmm, maybe I should have helped...?). It took me no more than 45 minutes to assemble the Cobham (including unpacking it) - just 7 chunky "Allen" bolts (key included plus basic but adequate instructions) - not awkward at all.

Finally, a couple of observations that might help you decide if either of these chairs are for you...the material on the Lindo seat, head- & arm-rests is a kind of leathery vinyl - nice enough but I was concerned about hot summer evenings/stickyness etc.

This is an excellent chair for home or office. It's sturdy, has a wide seat and range of adjustments that should suit most people. The adjustable lumbar support is welcome if you are prone to lower back pain as I am. The Cobham is vastly cheaper than a certain well known prestigious make of office chair with similar support and mesh back, but just as comfortable in my opinion. Its' reclining mechanism and headrest make it good for taking a nap. A minor criticism is that it has developed a creaking sound after 3 years of use. The assembly instructions consist of just four diagrams, but I found it easy to put together.

When I first got this chair, I loved it. However, after about a year of 9-5, the bearing in the seat post had crumbled away, resulting in a clunking, creaking pivot.

After another 6 months, the mesh of the seat pad had permanently squashed forward, leaving an extremely hard sitting surface. I'm a lithe and light chap, only 65kg. I suspect it's better for a larger built user, who'd spread their load over a greater area than my posterior. I need to find another, ideally with a different style seat pad.

That said - great for the money, and if you regularly grease the ball bearings (tip up the chair, remove the clip, slide off the base) it should last a few years at least. It was really comfortable until the seat pad went. So much so, I have two. Unfortunately, since I started working from home, I spend more than 8hrs a day in the chair, so now both of them are gone.

Wow. This chair is so comfortable. The mesh back and lumbar support mean that you can sit in it for hours and not get pains. The seat cushion is hard but not so hard it makes your cheeks hurt, and the 'head rest' provides great support for your neck.

The arm rests are extremely well cushioned and great for surfing the web, with the reclining position great for watching films/TV on the PC.

Like I mentioned above, the headrest is more of a neck rest, and I am not a tall person. Even with the head rest fully extended it does not reach the top of my head, but this is not too much of a problem for me as this is were I have I pains.

The head rest is also quite flimsy, meaning it can move during periods of sitting.

This is a fantastic chair, very comfortable, easy to adjust to what you want, great lower back support. Sitting in this chair helps me sit with better posture, too, as that position is very comfy! The armrests do stick forward quite a long way, but can just be swapped over and still work just fine!

Probably the most comfortable desk chair Iv'e ever used, after the initial bedding in period, although it does have an odd clunk once you sit it back up from a laid back position.
At first it was a little painful all round and I put it down to my terrible posture, but some one else confirmed after a couple of weeks that it now felt more comfortable after some bedding in from use. Definitely one to consider if you are in the market for a new chair in this price range.

I bought this to replace another which Id had for years. I have a back problem so I need a chair with good support. I have been very please with this one so far. It took about 30 mins to put together. It is heavy but that reflects the quality, it supports and is very comfortable. On the down side the levers underneath are too close to the screw in knobs for the arms so it was difficult to tighten them though not impossible.
