I bought this saucepan set 10 months ago with no problems, but then one Sunday I put potatoes into the largest saucepan and put the lid on when 5 minutes later there was an explosion. The handle came flying off the lid and hit the wall, glass went flying onto the stove and into the pan of potatoes (see the picture of the saucepan lid).
I contacted tefal to let them know of the fault and see if others had experienced this, but they take no responsibility for their lids as it’s in their terms and conditions, etc.
I didn’t submit the lid to extreme temperatures or knock the lid in any way to cause it to explode and there’s no reason why the lid should’ve done this and especially after only 10 months.
I bought this set as I thought tefal would be a good make and the saucepans would last for years but now they’ve lasted less than a year.
This could’ve been really dangerous - I felt I had to review this to warn others not to purchase this!
