In a time where most of the music on the radio sounds like the same old regurgitated drivel, Tara Elliot has done something to me that no other band has done in a very long time.....that is....they make me feel alive! This is a REAL modern punk band, Tara' voice doesn't ask to be invited in to your ears it barges in with the force of an 18 wheeler barreling out of control and crashing through your skull...you can't help but WAKE UP! In this new age of punk, Tara is going above and beyond the norm, it is not about untrained boys with teenage angst screaming the usual tired punk nonsense anymore...it is obvious to me from listening to her song "Take the Time" that Elliot was also a seriously trained blues/jazz singer and brings that keenly trained voice into an arena few trained singers have dared to enter...punk! She has already dominated the scene in New York City and its just a matter of time before the rest of the world catches the Red Velvet Express to the land of pure punk bliss. I am so happy punk is not dead, I was beginning to get worried! Thanks you Tara Elliot for not only keeping the scene alive but evolving it to the next level. With bands like Tara Elliot and the Red Velvets leading this new era I predict the next decade will see a punk renaissance. I am officially a RED HEAD.
