Product description

Product Description

Michael Reilly Burke, Boti Ann Bliss A chilling combination of boy-next-door good looks and a murderously deranged psyche made Ted Bundy one of the most notorious and complex of all modern day serial killers. Looking for a means to satisfy his dark desires, Ted begins living out his fantasies by luring, tormenting and murdering a slew of unsuspecting women, leaving no trace for the police to solve the chain of apparently motiveless crimes. Told in shocking detail from the deranged point of view of Bundy himself, this twisted and, at times, darkly comic film captures the disturbed world of one of the most infamous serial killers of all time.

I've seen this movie twice and on the contrary wouldn't find that the subject matter would be my first choice usually. However I gritted my teeth and subjected myself to it twice. The Producer has done a great job at portraying just how insane the man was not just by having grizzly murder after murder but by giving quite an in depth insight into his private life and how although totally crazy managed to have and keep a girlfriend for quite sometime.Going out socialising was his way of doing research(research being to find his next suitable victim)Eventually he got caught and was executed.I rate this movie on its slickness and its success in showing Ted Bundy for what he truly was 'an absolute walking lunatic' I hope this review helps anyone who hasn't seen this movie i'd advise you watch it if your not faint hearted or queezy.

This is in my opinion the best film on the subject of a serial killer. The performance delivered by Micheal Reily Burke is brilliant,i have yet to see him in anything else which is a shame but with hindsight after his devasting portrayel here maybe it possibly alienated casting agents. It is a brave, fearless performance i will always admire.Whilst there was a media myth of Bundy as some all american picture of normality those familiar with Bundy know he was a monstrous freak,a chronic nose picker, kleptomaniac, mostly unemployed,a sock fetishist...the list goes on.Apparently the term serial killer was first coined because of Bundy whose heavily pre meditated acts crossed states. The director Matthew Bright is a cool guy who sadly seems to have vanished. The film is pretty accurate although they cut out Bundy defending himself in court.Golly this guy was a repugnant monster and this movie almost serves as pro capital punishment. It is a dark, savage movie that in places is unremmiting unlike most of the trashy straight to video killer biopics. It certainly is not ideal date movie material and even caution is advised with teenagers who while they may like Hostel or Saw this is horror in its purest sense. But if you are into visceral, challenging dark movies it is well worth watching.A very good film made more powerful by the sad fact it is a true story.

This is a horrible film but not a bad one which will haunt you long after you have stopped watching it. It presents an extremely vivid picture of notorious US serial killer Ted Bundy who rampaged at will across several states in the 70s killing many women and girls. You can see that, almost inexplicably, Ted Bundy could be a nice guy to his girlfriend and her family while at the same time raping, torturing and killing others without a second thought. Maybe that charm and those good looks was what enabled him to attract victims and get away with it for so long. There was no way people would think that this all American poster boy was anything other than a really nice regular guy.

What drove this sick individual? The film suggests that Bundy's rage and social dislocation came partly from the fact that he saw himself as a loser - he had failed in numerous professional fields such as law and psychology - and also that despite his good looks and charm he was somewhat socially inept with women. We also get the impression that to be sexually turned on Bundy's "partners" had to be dead or dying or in grave distress.

Michael Reilly Burke as Bundy delivers an unforgettable performance - capturing all the sides to Bundy: charming, funny, kind, almost unimaginably sick, brutal, tender, arrogant, nervous, very calm, deluded, psychopathic, almost animal and so on. And if the subject matter had been more palatable then perhaps he would have got lots of gongs and plaudits for this performance. Never mind his depiction of what was an elusive, complex person is amazing and startling and lingers long in the memory.

Michael Reilly Burke does an excellent job potraying the serial killer Ted Bundy. If you have ever seen any real-life footage of Bundy, you realise that it is a very difficult job to play a master of manipulation.

Bundy was slick, manipulative, articulate and charming. He was a master of understanding the psychology of others and manipulating weaknesses in others such a blind -faith, vanity , arrogance and credulousness.

Micheal Reilly Burke manages to capture the Ted Bundy that was also a media darling. Burke allows us to know Bundy is a sadistic killer, but because of his charm we hope deep down we have made a mistake and caught the wrong guy. This is exactly how Ted Bundy operated.

.

Bundy is the best out of the stable of Tartan films focussing on serial killers ( this includes Ed Gein , John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer). Matthew Bright the Director includes some real-life footage of the twisted Bundy that adds more realism to the movie.

I commend Bright for his Directors commentary as it displays he has conducted in depth research on one of the most manipulative men of the 20th century.

The film gives you an insight into your own psychology, so it is a must for those who are interested in human nature as well as true crime.

This is well worth watching
