Techno Textiles is a brilliant book which combines textile fashion, engineering, science and electronic textiles together into one. Not ony does it give names of the textiles, it explains how the polymers are broken down to form different fabrics with different properties. As an AS Level student studying textiles I have found this book extremely informative and have used the adresses in the Reference to write off to designers and companies about their products and revolutionary fabrics. If you are interested in futuristic fabrics and fashions, this is the book for you.

As a textile teacher at AS & A level, this book has been invaluable for the delivery of the specification. It covers both natural and man-made fibres and fabrics with clarity, with good illustation to support the text. New fibres, such as microfibres, are covered in detail. A fantastic resource to all professionals involved in textiles at a range of levels.

In general this is a very inspiring book, and useful in so far as it contains a list of suppliers and designers.
However as an architecture student I would have appreciated a wider look at textiles that can be used in building.
