Product Description

Product Description

Better known as Genmaicha in Japan this is a traditional blend of green tea with toasted rice.

Tea temple: 1 per person. HOT: Brew for 3 mins, best with water at 80 degrees C. (If you don't have a fancy kettle or thermometer to hand, grabbing the kettle just before it boils will do the trick). ICED: Just cover one tea temple with boiling water and infuse for 3 minutes. Remove temple and top-up glass with iced water. Whole leaves take longer to brew, but the little wait is definitely worth it. Straight - this interesting flavour is great on its own.

Printed using vegetable based inks on sustainably sourced cardboard.

Produced in a factory that handles nuts.

Really don't like this tea at all. I was a recent convert to teapots after drinking their Licquorice and mint, which I loved... Great when you fancy something sweet and tasty without the calories.

This tea didn't even compare. No hint of popcorn. Really disappointed. Sorry tea pigs but I won't be buying this tea again.

Mixed opinions on these in our house. Unfortunately they weren't to my taste at all but my other half liked them hence the four stars. I just didn't enjoy them as much as I do other teapig flavours but that's really down to personal taste. They are very "corny". You get a strong green tea with a heavy hit of roasted corn (similar to the taste of salted tortilla chips).

If you're new to teapigs then I can definitely recommend the brand. The little tea temples are adorable and release lots of flavour and keep the bits inside the bag not at the bottom of your cup.

Popcorn tea originates long long ago when the poorer people in China could not afford the high prices for normal Green tea so they added popped rice to pad it out. Now Popcorn tea's more expensive than green tea, but still you need to try this. It's lovely and best of all FAT FREE. I can't get enough of it. Also the Tea Pig tea bags are super posh and make you feel like a real grown up. Lovely stuff.

I've never been a fan of green tea - I know it's supposed to be good for you but oh, the taste ...Enter Teapigs Popcorn Tea: a green tea I can actually drink without making a face! I like mine pure with a bit of sweetener - the added sweetness really brings out the popcorn flavour.

Anyone who loves green tea already will no doubt appreciate this version but I also urge anyone who doesn't normally like green tea to give this one a go. As usual, the teapigs packaging is lovely and you can see all the tea leaves, puffed rice and popcorn kernals in the tea temple which adds to the experience.

To conclude: a really yummy tea, well-presented and it's green so it's good for you - simply brilliant!

This is a nice green tea which has puffed rice included in the bag. This gives a lovely popcorn-like smell to the tea and being tea pigs is lovely to drink. Makes a nice gift for your adventurous tea-drinking friends.

I am a big fan of Tea Pigs and this is no exception to their high quality products, but don't be fooled by the "popcorn" moniker. It's really just rice (green) tea.

On investigation I've discovered this type of tea is nicknamed "popcorn tea" as some of the roasted rice grains burst during production to resemble tiny popped corns (as in evidence in the transparent Tea Pig bag), so all is forgiven on that front.

Aside from that there's not much to say. A very nice rice tea. Just don't expect it to taste of popcorn.

I bought this tea as a gift for my partner thinking it would be a bit cute and taste nice (as Teapigs have great quality tea), but never expected it to be so delicious. It has a nice green tea base, but the popcorn adds a wonderful, sweet dimension of flavour (it's says like sugar pops, and I would wholeheartedly agree with that). My partner likes it as it comes, but I add just a little bit of honey.

If you are skeptical, I understand, but definitely give this a try! It would make an amazing gift for anyone who loves tea or someone who likes stuff that is a bit different from the norm.
