The BEST green tea!

I've tried a few of the varieties of green tea from Clipper, Tetley, Twinings, and tick tock. While they're all undoubtedly drinkable, they all seem to become unpleasantly bitter when drinking the last quarter of the cup. I decided to try Teapigs Mao Feng Green Tea after seeing photos showing a much clearer and greener tea, whereas the other brands have a somewhat murky green/brown appearance.

This tea does indeed have a clearer (and greener) appearance (see my photo) and the taste is much better too; it's fresher and cleaner tasting. The bitterness is not entirely gone, but it's only very minimal near the end of each cup. You can tell this tea is of a much higher quality than the other brands and I can see why the price is higher. From now on, Tea Pigs Mao Feng is the only green tea I will drink, and I would absolutely recommend it.

I love Mao Feng loose tea: I have three cups each morning.
These leaves are long, bright and make a lovely cup of golden tea. No bitterness at all, just flavour and goodness.
If you have been put off green tea because of the bitterness of some mixes, especially teabags, I suggest you try this.
I always re-use them once, saving the leaves for a second day, and there is no reduction of flavour.
Recommended - even for non-green tea drinkers.

Great flavour , make sure you refill the mug as you will easily get 2 cups out of one bag.
I have been informed by a chinese person i knew that the second brew is often better as the tannins have been washed through on the first brewing. Good tea, bit expensive worth as a treat or if money not a barrier. Good second best for me is the Aldi copy which is slightly more bitter but better value overall. Still bravo to Teapigs as I do love this authentic chinese green tea . Delicious

I've mainly drank tetley green tea and got this as a gift a while back and now decided to buy a box of 50 bags. This tea is so much better than what you get with tetley. There's no bitter taste if you leave it for more than 30 seconds. It's also green in color as you'd expect not like the other brands. It is fairly expensive but definitely worth it

I am past my second box of 50 bags so it’s time to write a thorough review. This is without a doubt the best green tea I ever had and I just keep ordering. Pricier than the supermarket brands but ‘oh boy’ soo worth it - I no longer drink any other green tea only the real stuff - even its colour is green! Definitely recommend.

I am really into my green tea so I now started using loose tea. I always loved the teapigs green tea bags so when I came across the loose tea from Teapigs I bought it straight away. The tea is very fresh and it is good value for money. I was however a little disappointed about the taste. It is lacking the intensity I get from different brands such as The Teamakers of London for example. TTOL brand is approximately 50% more expensive but the taste is so much better.

If you like green tea you MUST try this. YES it's expensive compared to others, but when you taste it you'll know why. I don't know how to describe the difference - perhaps 'cleaner', if that makes sense.

But whatever you don't, don't then make the mistake I did of trying some of the imitation Tea Pigs out there. I tried the Twinings version, and a couple of supermarket own brands. They are NOTHING like the real thing.

I now have an Amazon Subscription to this stuff - it's the most cost effective way to buy it.

I love this green tea. I first had it in a restaurant which may have been Giraffe at Manchester airport. I only drink green tea and love the distinctive flavour of this variety . Maybe the people who wrote the poor reviews are not green tea connoisseurs like I am. I think I even like it better than Sencha.
It comes in a large packet which is easily sealable and the leave are large and mid green - no dust. Perfect.
