'It is the details we take for granted, such as the workings of the clutch, that this set explains so well...'
Going for practice drives with a learner driver can be a stressful experience for both of you. You may be an experienced driver, but do you know how to explain the workings of the clutch? What about the modern techniques for changing gears? These are skills all experienced drivers take for granted, but which learner drivers still need to master. The CDs are in bite-sized tracks that you play in the car, with your trainee, before the days drive. No theory, no books, no watching DVDs of someone else driving. This is an in-car, practical course designed to get you and your trainee on the road.See all Product Description

I hunted through the driving section for inspiration and saw 'TSTDME'.
What a revelation, it was fantastic! I drove my daughter to a quiet car park on Sunday morning and popped in the first CD. By lunchtime we had reached the end of CD2 and she was confidently driving around, practising the exercises she had learnt.
The way it works is this: for the majority of the time a man's voice (the writer) gives a driving lesson to the learner, but another 'character' (the beautiful voice of Isla Blair) speaks to you, the instructor, giving you help and advice along the way.
It's a clever idea which works very well. The instructions, for both of you, are clear, detailed and easy to follow. My daughter found the actual driving lessons very simply explained. There was none of the technical waffle I was half expecting!
The only criticism I have is that the list of contents isn't numbered, which makes finding a particular section, for revision, a bit more awkward than it need be, but apart from that I would rate this CD as highly recommended and excellent value for money.
...if, say, you're a dad, about to start one of your kids off on their driving - just drive them to a car park and play the CDs!
