As with all similar "TEACH YOURSELF VISUALLY" manuals, this one is yet another first class effort. Highly recommended to all who find "written" manuals hard to learn, this book offers a full and easily understood view on how the new OS Mavericks operates. East to use as along term reference for this with a poor memory, such as me, this manual is highly recommended, especially for those new to the Apple systems.

Going from a Windows pc I though wrongly this would be the answer. The illustrations are fine what is lacking is the content. On stuff like posting and moving pictures around etc its crap, the same with playing CDs with external players etc I wanted to be shown how to quickly do tasks that weren't obvious or easily figured out. The tutorial it gives is the most basic much of which I already had figured out and the stuff that I thought " how do I do this" wasn't shown, unless you are completely new to computing this is useless. I haven't even looked at the book since the first few days I got it and may as well thrown my money down the toilet. I feel robbed having bought this useless book.

I like this - very clear layout makes it ideal for someone who has used Microsoft for years, now transferring to Apple.
I would recommend it.

THE BOOK GAVE ME PRECISELY THE APPROACH TO A NEW MACHINE THAT I WANTED and the only disappointment came from the Post Office. To accept a purchase and then tell the customer that it would take between a week and ten days to arrive from the United Kingdom to England was frankly laughable and utterly frustrating. Accordingly I was quite unable to get the information I needed at the time that I ordered the book and I cannot help but think that this sort of thing and attitude may well be costing Amazon quite a bit of resentment and quite a bit of money,

Useful and really well planned book. It saves me an enormous amount of money going for apple lessons at an apple centre.

Due to other pressures I have only been able to have a glance through the books I recently bought and have had to resort to my old system for speed and urgency.

What I have read so far prompts me to say it looks to have been written in a very clear and understandable way, much clearer than the old self help books and I am sure it will deserve a much higher rating.

Sorry, but you have requested this information too soon under present circumstances.
