Claire quite literally finds herself naked and running on a beach on the Isle of Skye and has no idea how she come to be there. Her memory is hazy but one thing she's positive about is she is dreaming , isn't she? Meeting Duncan the laird is surely part of her overactive imagination and she's going to wake up soon, isn't she? Slowly coming to terms with the idea that she's travelled back in time Claire finds that Duncan surpasses all her wildest fantasies of what a sexy Scottish man would be like. Duncan's a canny one though as he wants to know more about Claire and tries his hardest to gain her trust.
Duncan's brother has been kidnapped by the Fae and it's clear that Claire's dramatic appearance may well have something to do with the magic used. Maybe by working together Duncan can find a way to get his brother back and Claire can find a way home to her own time. There's a passion brewing between them that cannot be denied. Time is running out though and they will risk their lives but can Duncan really stand by and watch this fascinating woman leave and more importantly will Claire still want to ?
What a simply fabulous little book. It sucked this reader in right from the start with it's likeable and warm characters and a simple storyline that just whisked me away.Read more ›
I've often imagined what I'd be like if I was drawn back in time and how I'd act, what I'd love would be to meet a Scot like Duncan, and oh what a man he is “Had to be about six-five or six-six. Definitely had a foot on her, for sure. Blue eyes, like the kid. Long black hair that flowed in the wind. He was wearing a kilt, and had the same tartan pattern strewn across his body, shoulder to waist and held down with a belt, but no shirt beneath. A huge, defined pec peeked out and her stomach fluttered.” My heart would have fluttered too, but Duncan doesn't only look good he's also got that sincere heart that we are all looking for, I think I fell for him as he offered Claire his Tartan to cover herself but with such tact and decency.
Claire is a thoroughly modern woman, who although she knows a lot about Scotland never thought she would be back in the seventeenth century there. Depends on the who I'd meet but I would miss my iPad and I don't think I'd cope as well as Claire, who's character is wonderful and another on my list of book BFF's.
With Duncan and Claire being the main characters there are still some secondary characters worth mentioning, the slimed Riley the pirate captain, I'd be wanting to wipe my hand down after meeting him, and his seer who I'd be hitting if she looked at my man like that.Read more ›
