This is the most easy book on Tarot that I have ever read. There is a category for every circumstance that you may choose to question. The category element means that you do not get 'frustrated' when reading the cards as you get the correct answer every time. I would highly recommend this book - EXCELLENT!

I found this book to be one of the best Tarot books I have ever bought. It covers a whole range of different topics including the astrological meanings of court cards and, what cards stand for certain seasons of the year.Readers can pick different categories pertaining to the certain area of their life they want to know about such as love, success, career, family, health etc.I would highly recommend this book to everyone! In fact I think I just have!Brilliant!I always have it close to hand.

This was my first tarot book I bought in 1990 and dismissed right away. I thought she wrote nonsense. Later I bought many other tarot books, struggled to make a sense out of their ways of interpretation. The World, the Sun, the star, Ace of Cups, all beautiful with those positive cards, nothing really good happened! I also have been learning Astrology since early '70s and one day I looked for one of astrology books in my book shelves, suddenly N. Garen's book I dismissed over 8 years ago drooped on my foot. Since I was about to travel I did a 3- card spread for travel and others, the sun came up and according to hers, she wrote 'You will be putting on a facade, keeping up the illusion of gaiety when there really is none, because the thing you really want, the ingredient or heart's desire, is missing' for a category of 'Others' and for travel, 'If you're going on a trip, it will be disappointing or fruitless...' it turned out be that way! and when I had The world for Ramance, she wrote 'What has been must be let go of for the time being, because the world must take a turn before a new day can emerge....etc. and it all came true! Her interpretation for the cards are very often different from other tarot authors. Even the greatest cards, she often writes opposit meaning from others, that means NOT so great, negative cards again opposit interpretation from others. And more often than not, she turns out be right. I just wonder how she found that out... She also wrote 'The simplified Keltic Cross came about because I found that more times than not the full Keltic Cross contained information extraneous to the answer of my question'. I also found this to be true for me.Read more ›

This book is fine if you realy do not want to lean the tarot as it does in its own way give you the aswers but I feel that books like this make Tarot reading in to a party game and if you have a feel for the cards then you know it is not

I have used this book over the years and the different spreads - particularly the "spiritual guidance" one has given me lots of accurate advice - as long as I have approached the matter in a non-frivolous way. The spreads encourage you to look behind the mundane and see the bigger picture. My only criticism is the American phrases and the insistence on the term "God" rather than the more generic "universe" I would prefer. Use with respect and you will be rewarded with some insight and wisdom.

This was my very first no nonsense guide to learning about the tarot, when I bought Nancy Garens larger original version back in 1994.
This book is the equivalent 'Tarot for Dummies/ Idiots Guide to the Tarot' combined but much better because it takes the reader towards learning how to use this multifunctional tool to answer a diverse range of life's issues. Each Major and Minor Arcana card is explained thoroughly covering 32 categories and like most other books on the subject, includes examples of card spreads. The cards Garen illustrates are the Rider Waite version and I do still like using these cards to this day. This version of Nancy Garens 'Tarot Made Easy' only differs in its more compact size and I really do recommend the newbie, amateur or professional tarot reader to read this excellent interpretation based on the bible of life. Top rating 5 out of 5.

I've been dipping into the tarot for over 25 years now and this is the book that helped me get a grip on the card meanings for the first time after struggling with more complex interpretations or ones that were too brief to be helpful.

It's an excellent beginner book because it gives you interpretations for a wide variety of situations so you don't have to apply the complex imagery to your specific question with no experience. Once you do understand better, it's great for a quick reference.

It'll never replace other more detailed tarot books such as the fabulous 78 degrees of wisdom or books more related to the specific deck you prefer, but it is really good to have to hand to prompt you and I still use it to get ideas for interpretations and to come up with a theme or structure for a reading. Definitely worth the money if you're interested in tarot and plan to take it further, and also if you just want to dabble.
