Although it has only 128 pages, this is because the authors don't want readers to be too confined by what they think the cards are supposed to mean - which is what a lot of tarot book authors do. Tarot isn't about following instructions from a recipe cook book, so the authors didn't want to make the book too big - which is just right for beginners.
The thing that most impresses me with this tarot book (amongst others for beginners) is the accuracy of the text in describing the archetypal connections of the cards. For example the Empress card's connection to Venus, and the King of Wand's particular connection to fire. I believe that the book is one of the most important tarot books that a beginner will need. If you only get one tarot book, get this one, unless you are someone whom would derive no benefit from using tarot cards.
