      As with all battery powered things, at least in my opinion, they never perform as well as the wired versions. I bought this as I don’t have a power point where I was going to put this camera. However, connecting to view the feed in the app takes longer, and the picture quality is also not as good as my wired ones though it has the same wireless internet signal strength. For ease of use this is a great little camera, battery life is reasonable, night vision works well and it is simple to install and charge when required. However, I’d recommend a wired camera over this if you can, I personally just seem to have less issues.

      A well made camera and super easy to install. It picks up my WiFi from other end of the house- on 2g. The night vision is spot on and I've set the lights to activate if there is motion. Its sensitive but I've disabled the pet feature so it doesn't pick up the dogs. The app is easy to use after the easy set up. I found that the paid features are not really beneficial and won't be subscribing after the trial. Put in a memory card and enjoy the all the features apart from it telling you it's a human on its so called AI. Sound quality is fine but that's not something I need for around the back of the house.

      Okay I don't really leave reviews but I am a little shocked I don't even know where to start.
      I set this camera up as per the manual and read every detail.

      There are a few issues so I will go one by one.

      I keep getting motion notifications every 5 minutes. Not sure what triggers it. There is a tree like 10 feet away I am thinking this might be causing it but thought their algorithm would prevent this as advertised. This causes my camera to stay on quite often and my battery dropped to 80% within one week. It will certainly not last as advertised.
      This issue causes hundreds of notifications on my phone as well. Their app is supposed to be able to mute motion notifications but it does not work so I cannot even mute them.

      This camera also is not able to differentiate between pets and humans. Every time a cat walks on the street or my driveway I get a 'person detected' notification despite the fact that pet detection has its own category as they claim...

      Worst and most unacceptable and probably the most ridiculous part is that it absolutely does not detect and record what I need it to. I set this up on my driveway and had tens of deliveries since then, not a single one of them was captured. I walk on my driveway, water the plants, wave at the camera and come back inside. It only records me just as I am leaving or after I have left. This is actually quite scary and serious. Really unfit for purpose. Don't know what to do at this stage. I changed all the sensitivity settings and played around and this hasn't made a difference. It sometimes detects people walking on the street so far away though. Such a bizarre camera.

      This isn't my first Tapo device and I have been very pleased with all of them. But this is my first battery powered device and the requirement that it needs waking. I installed it just before going away for a month and was surprised when I checked in that so few recordings had occurred. On my return I was able to test the detection by using the facility on the app. This triggers a light or a sound when it detects a hot body. I discovered that I had to be within 6 feet of the camera before the light would come on. So that explains why so few recordings as you have to walk under the camera to trigger it. Others report distances of 50feet, so it maybe that this unit is faulty.
      But although the quality of the camera is great and the angle of view really wide, you need to be aware you must have the camera at a pinch point where any subjects have to pass through in order for the camera to wake.

      Andaba buscando una camara para exterirores que no fuera muy grande, que estuviera motorizada y que no usara antenas, despues de muchas vueltas encontre este modelo.
      Al principio estaba esceptico, pero aproveche a que podia devolverlo para hacer una prueba y desde que la conecte quede encantado.
      El seguimiento de movimiento es excelente, la detección es muy precisa, la calidad del video es aceptable.
      La manera de montarla no me pareció la mejor, para mi gusto, cuando se monta en el techo queda como un tipo escalon hacia abajo asi que en realidad la camara queda un poco despegada del techo, no me gusta porque siento que le quita estabilidad a la instalacion, pero fuera de eso no le veo otro problema.
      Algo que detecte a la hora de instalar es que, cuando quieres acceder al area de la tarjeta SD y el boton de reset tienes que quitar dos pequeños tornillos, estos no estan asegurados a la plaquita asi que es bien facil que se te caigan y se pierdan (ya me paso). Aparte el acceso a esa parte esta en la seccion mas oculta de la camara, lo cual es bueno por seguridad pero hay que rotarla para llegar ahi y si aun no esta conectada lo tienes que hacer manual, lo cual me lleva a mi siguiente punto.
      Cuando la movi para acceder al boton de reset, note que el movimiento es mas ruidoso, no se si dañe el mecanismo de movimiento o que, sin embargo, despues de un rato de mover la camara el ruido se quita, pero eventualmente se escucha. No se si fue un error mio o que, pero desde que la monte en el techo (inicialmente la tenia en una mesa) empezo a hacer ese ruido.
      Por otro lado la aplicacion tiene muchas opciones, es muy facil de configurar y conectar, lo que he visto es que a veces no muestra ningun dispositivo y tienes que reiniciarla.
      El movimiento de la camara de la app es bueno, solo que tiene algo de delay, pero no lo veo tanto como problema pues siento que eso se usa muy poco o al menos no diario, pero cada quien.
      En general es una buena camara, yo si me compraria otra para alguna otra aplicacion.

      Only complaints would be to provide a suitable sd card with it and also the correct plug for our country. Had to buy an adapter.
