A continuation of the Prentor series of witchcraft novels.

The love triangle between Mark, Sasha and Tanner is well done, and the overall narrative is a decent one that flows reasonably well.

The simplicity of the language and story seems to imply that this is a young adult novel, but the depiction of the relationships between the couples argues that that wasn't the intention.

Lisandra was a slightly disappointing character, in that we saw things from her point of view but never got a sense of closure about who she had determined to be. Kalin also struck me as unnecessarily dim, although he did start to pick up near the end and I did like the conclusion with Regina.

The story was well developed and kept me interested until the end. I liked seeing the characters developed while they learned about themselves. The fantasy and action scenes were done nicely, giving me the excitement I like in this type of book.

I'm impressed by Mona Hanna book and her writing. I thought the story was well-written, and I enjoyed her writing style. I can tell she put a lot of time, care, and effort into this book.

I look forward to reading more of the author's work - especially the next book in the series. I hope I don't have to wait too long to find out what happens next in this world with the awesome characters that I got to know.

Amazing and super suspenseful!! Highly recommended!! This book was awesome!! I could not put the book down! If you are thinking of buying this book DO IT. This book does not disappoint.

I chose four stars as I really enjoyed the book, the only downside was it wasn't long enough and at times felt rushed to get the story told. Apart from that, a really good story, can't wait for the final instalment!

5.0 out of 5 stars great read 5 Jan. 2014

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this installment of the Prentor series. Both this novella as well as the first are full of endearing characters. You feel as though they are friends that you aren't reading about but that you are eating with or fighting beside. The storyline is amazing and flows very well. The author has a great style of writing. She doesn't describe things so much you lose touch with the story,;however, her style is to describe it vividly with one or two words. This is a great book by an amazing author and I would recommend this to anyone who loves suspense, fantasy and a little romance.
4.0 out of 5 stars Tanner 17 Jun. 2013

This novella picks up right where the first in the series left off. Not only that, but it smoothly transitions into a completely new story. In this story Mona combines the world at its best with the world at its worst to create a captivating novella.

Mona is a very descriptive writer who has mastered the art of subtlety, working her descriptions right into the storyline itself. She does this in a very well written story that captures both your heart and your imagination.

The author has a well-developed cast of characters that she works with to enmesh us in this interesting world. These characters could hold their own in any fantasy story. You really feel for them - both the good and the bad.

As a whole this story was simultaneously comedic and frightening. It was an interesting way to spend an afternoon

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review

3.0 out of 5 stars It's alright :/ I thought the first installment was better. 8 Mar. 2013

I have to say that I did not enjoy this book as much as I did the first one in the series. I knew there would be some romance in this because of how the last one ended, but I felt it was very overwhelming and I found myself rolling my eyes at the characters all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love a few good romance scenes, but this being a novella, I felt the words spent on repeated romance could have been better spent on storyline and information. The story is not a detailed as the first one is and I feel it skips a huge meeting with the royal family which I was curious about from the previous book. This story let me down since I had some higher expectations of it. This story has some potential and I like the story lines that are presented, however, it is not as well written as the first novella.
