Well you know the idiom “it takes two to Tango”? it certainly applies to Rhys and Violet in this next instalment.

In book 2 we definitely see a very different dance between Violet and Rhys and it picks up where The Waltz left off and Angelica Chase moves the tempo substantially in this instalment.

Violet pays for her lie. She hurt Rhys and he thinks that she made a fool out of him.

Lies, deception, no matter how harmless you think they are or who it is going to protect someone always gets hurt and Rhys got hurt. Violet pays for her deception and is met with silence.

Then everything changes when she receives a text form Rhys: the Barracks. One hour. ……… but her elation is short lived by the three letter word that follows the message.

RED

She soon understands exactly what RED means. Rhys was gone and she was about to meet the version of the man that took his place.

“I’m going to let you ride my c**K tonight, but you wont be in control. Nice and slow, Mrs Harvell, or I’ll make it hurt.”

And then deception, secrets and lies come to the forefront again but this time its not Violet who is keeping secrets.

Roll on book three - the suspense is killing me!

I don’t know if I’m the only one who found this book a bit sad. I felt sad for Violet. Yes she lied, but sometimes admitting things isn’t the easiest thing to do. Coming clean when you’ve omitted something in the beginning is difficult. I felt that Rhys was a little bit too harsh with her. Harsh in the fact he walked away and left Violet feeling bad. I hate to think of her kicking herself wishing she was totally honest in the beginning. I suppose it’s a hard lesson in life that we learn that there is never a gain to be made through lies and deceit.

There was an OMG moment in this book and also a huge big pot and kettle moment. That made me feel a bit bitter and angry towards the way Rhys treated Violet!

I am loving how this story is unfolding. We are learning more and more about the characters as things progress. Every word in these books is there for purpose. There’s no slow bits and no over flowery bits. I can picture the scenes and the activities without the author having to go all wordy on me! I like this author’s style of writing. Once again, where the scenes were sad, I felt sad. Where the scenes were funny, I laughed. Where the scenes were hot, I was reaching down my boxers!

Apparently the author has only been writing for a year! That was a gob-smack moment for me because if she can produce this quality of writing early on in her career then boy oh boy are we going to see some terrific stuff in the future.

I’m following this series and can’t wait for the next part. Totally deserving of full stars.

I'm just glad I didn't read this when it first came out, the wait between books would have driven me mad.
Violet is human, she made a mistake but she's done everything she could to put it right, Rhys has been hard on her and I want to say too hard but we don't know his story I suspect there's something in his past that he's reacting to, only time and hopefully the next book will tell.
Again this book is hot and again it's so much more than that, I just can't read these fast enough and then I'm annoyed because it's over so quickly, bring on the next one....

Really enjoyed this. Good story and characters. I read the first(free) and lookward forward to reading the rest of the series but stopped once I realised yet again the author/publisher in their wisdom had put what could be really be one book into 4 and charging more as the series went on. I object to this and so decided to stop reading at no 2. Although I would have loved to have finished the story felt I couldn'nt.

This book picks up virtually where book 1 ends, however Vi has finally thrown Alex out and asked for a divorce.

In book 1 we get to learn that Red/Green are words used to describe how intense the BDSM scene will be, with Green being mild and Red being more intense. Throughout book 1 the scenes are Green, but at the end we discover that Rhys has text Vi requesting she go to The Barracks and the scene will be Red.

Now whilst I've read books with far more intense BDSM scenes than these, it's Rhys' emotional distance that shocked me. And because I hadn't warmed to him as much as I'd hoped in book 1, I was really starting to dislike him in this book. I won't tell you why, because i don't want to give anything away, but to me he came across as hypocritical.

What I will say though with this book is, it was a lot more passionate, although Rhys and Vi's relationship at times seemed volatile, but deep down, it was clear that there was a deep connection starting to take shape and that just made me eager to keep on reading.

Despite my earlier reservations about Rhys, by the end I was completely in love with him and many things started to fall into place.
Again this book was well written and the ending just made me want to dive straight into book 3.
