If like me you find an accordian cheesy and have never much bothered with tango music, this album is a revelation. Villadangos' arrangements and performances are both sensitive and evocative. The Piazzolla arrangements in particular are a joy, especially midnight in Buenos Aires which is very atmospheric. The player has developed his own way if playing rhythms on the sound box of the guitar that add hugely to the tonal experience. I also very much enjoyed the ballad The Day you Love me. For the money you won't get a better selection of music than this.

Great tunes if you like this style of music - perhaps not as tango as I thought but that's probably my ignorance.

5.0 out of 5 stars OLE 7 Jun. 2004
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

This is a wonderful album of acoustic guitar music. I've always loved the Tango and the so-called "classical" guitar. This album brings them together delightfully. The album transports me to a smoke-filled Argentinean nightclub where the Tango is danced very passionately. I agree with the review to this album; tract 13 is wonderful.
If you are into the Tango or guitar music or just want to be transported, in your mind, to a different time and place, buy this disc.

5.0 out of 5 stars I don't often write reviews . . . but Tango Argentino . . . WOW! 20 Sept. 2010
By Uncle John 5oh - Published on Amazon.com

I got this CD on a whim; it arrived just before we were to take a car trip so, I unwrapped it and took it along. I put it in the CD player about halfway to our destination--from the opening notes I knew I was onto something spectacular. Each piece seemed to increase the pleasure; by the time I reached track 13 Piazzolla's "Midnight in Buenos Aires" I was hooked worse than a heroin addict. I've listened to it a dozen times since and it dosen't get stale. Who ever wrote the "product info" blurb at the middle of the page was right. If you can be still during Mores "Military Tap" you'd better check your pulse 'cause you might be dead!

I want to see some detailed photos of Victor Villadangos; I'm convinced that he has a minimum of three arms with six digits on each hand. He is trully remarkable on this album (as he is on on "Lauro Guitar Music 2"). I think this is fast becoming one of my "desert island discs".

For all of you who remember the original "Addams Family", give this album a listen and you'll understand why Gomez behaved as he did whenever he heard a Tango!

5.0 out of 5 stars A "must have" CD for the Tango & Classical Guitar lovers! 18 Dec. 2015

I really like how Villadangos plays and arranges tango on the guitar, his arrangements of Piazzolla, Gardel, J. Plaza, etc in this CD are really well accomplished! Without a doubt this will be one of my most heard CDs

Nice Argentinian music, played meticulously well by none other than Victor Villadangos. I loved it. Make this part of your CD collection.
