I enjoyed this book from the first line “If ever a woman deserved to be shot, it was Miss Crenshaw” until the very end. There are well rounded characters in this beautifully crafted story and it's pacey, sexy and well written.

Against a backdrop of Scottish/English loathing at the beginning of the 19th century, where challenges were issued and duels fought as a means to uphold honour, Erroll, handsome cad and womaniser and Eve, sensible eldest daughter, yet determined to marry for love, are thrown together and forced to extricate themselves from a complicated tangle of kidnapping, well meaning parents and scheming paramours.

Really enjoyed this story so it's a 5* read from me.

I received my copy in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

*excuse me a moment as I climb off the roller coaster of a ride, as I calm my heart taking in a deep breath of fresh air*

It’s been way to long since I’ve read a HR …. I think my brain has been needing a time off from my usual genre’ because it was an amazing to read “To Tame a Highland Earl”!!! I loved it immensely, having lived in both Scotland and England it was like taking a trip down memory lane, back in time to so many thoughts and memories of my child/YA age also my heritage. I cold place myself so easily in both the countries, wow talk about a flash from the past.

Author Tarah Scott has captured both countries so beautifully with her spectacular writing style. The story flowed effortlessly just like you were taking a nice easy quite boat ride down a lake… so relaxing or so you though as you are thrown onto a roller coaster as the characters take things into their own hands.

Tarah, I loved all the characters in To Tame a Highland Earl, but my favorites are both Eve and Erroll, they both we’re so dynamic in the roles that you built for them, yet the other characters equally carried their place with the story line.

Not realizing just how much I had missed and loved Historical Romance as a read, it took me by shock, but a nice shock when I found how much I actually enjoy reading this story. I must say that your writing style, the ease at which the story seems to move across the pages reminds me of my favorite author from back when I was in my early 20’s into my mid-thirties, and that author is Johanna Lindsey. I devoured every book she had written. You have rekindled my love for HR, and I have now added the rest of your novels to my TBR list on goodreads.

Fabulous story. This was my first time reading something by this author. I will definitely be reading more from Tarah Scott in the future. "To Tame A Highland Earl" is an exquisitely well-told story by a masterstoryteller. The author delivers everything the image on the cover of the book suggests: passion, pleasure, romance, strength, resolve, irresistibility, loyalty and betrayal. I found myself turning the pages rapidly. I was eager and involved, my attention held captive by the plot and the prose employed by Tarah Scott. Let me give you three extended quotes as examples:

(quote - page 100)
Her sister cut her a scathing look. “He is not to be congratulated.” She looked at Erroll, “Well, sir?”
“I did not manage to kill him.”
“Have you lost your mind?” she seethed. “That was one of the stupidest things I have ever had the misfortune to see.”

(quote - page 147)
“What happened?” Grace asked.
“I do not know.” Eve rose and stepped from the tub.
She grabbed the towel hanging over the back of Grace’s chair, quickly wrapped it around herself and hurried toward the door while stuffing the corner of the towel between her breasts. Something hard struck the door and Grace gave a cry. A man’s groan in the hallway was followed by a foul curse. As Eve’s fingers closed around the knob. The door flung open, slamming her back, hard against the wall. Pain radiated down her arm, but she registered Grace’s gasp.
“What the devil?” a deep male voice boomed in a light Scottish brogue.

(quote - page 300)
She dried her hands on her apron and headed in his direction.
"Go on, lads," Cameron said to the men who teased her. "You have better things to do than dally with the lassies.

Tarah Scott has done it again, in her new series A MacLean Highlander, TO TAME A HIGHLAND EARL. Again, I got pulled into her story filled with hot romance, intrigue and adventure. I have read her two previous books in this series, and she hasn’t disappointed me with this one! When you will start this book, you won’t be able to stop; it’s fast pace and fun to read. I loved her two main characters Lord Errol Rushton and Eve Crenshaw. Breathtaking intensity between the two! The story starts as Eve discovers next to her in her bed, a handsome man with a charming smile Erroll. As soon as she realizes who he is, she points a pistol to his chest, and the fun began. Then the family bursts into her room and finds them in a compromising position. Her father has only one solution for the consequences of their acts, to marry. But Erroll doesn’t want to marry and neither does Eve, but she feels a strong attraction for him. What will happen to them? What will their hearts listen to… reason or love! Oh, there is also, Eve’s younger sister Grace who wants Erroll for herself! What will she do, what will she plot?? From beginning to end, I enjoyed following Erroll and Eve’s love journey. Ms. Scott is a storyteller that gets you hook the moment you start reading her story; they are always very well written and fun to read. She skillfully blended romance, passion and intrigues in her book To Tame a Highland Earl and nicely weaved her characters Erroll and Eve in it. Without reservation, I heartily recommend this book!
