This product is quite good at providing useful phrases such as "good morning", "beer", "beach", "where are the suitcases?", other general touristy matters, colours, times and sundry items but could have provided more depth in how to structure sentences in order to create your own intelligible phrases. I would have preferred more examples of very basic vocabulary (such as "he", "she", "they", "I am", "they are", "here", "there", and so on, which would make the excellent examples provided even more adaptable in practice.
Nevertheless, both I and my 7-year-old son found the games entertaining and he arrived in the Philippines with a fair vocabulary which provided a good foundation for further progress.
Paalam (goodbye).

I am sorry to say that this language pack is of very limited use, and a poor purchase at the price.

Please be aware that it is extremely basic list of Tagalog words with accompanying pictures designed as if for very young children.

If you are an adult or wanting to learn Tagalog this is useless as you will learn just a few words that are so common that its pointless even bothering as any Filipino will know them.

Just a list of common words that come up on the screen, and overpriced at that.

For Beginners I recommend 'Learn Filipino' available through Amazon.com which is brilliant and comprehensive and costs only a little more.

This is great and easy to understand. the only problem I had with this program was it does not have the Tagalog alphabet.

I can't complain as it was delivered within the estimate time (although near the end of that estimate -- but that's the postal service for you). This was a present for my dad and I've only seen how it works once so I can't give much feedback, but it breaks down topics and does simple words which is good for a beginner.

It comes with a booklet describing the product and other things they can offer and they do this language in an intermediate level for those that master the beginner which I think is good.

When you click a topic, there is a man and a woman at the bottom of the screen and a list of words in the middle of the screen in English, when you click it, it gives the Tag-A-Log translation. They also have a bit to test you.

For the price this is really good. It looked like one of the best cheap/middle of the range priced language programme's available because I doubt most people could not afford to pay out £300+ for a Rosetta Stone computer programme. I know Rosetta Stone is good, but if you can't afford it, this would probably be your next best option.

There aren't many books, CD's or computer programmes for earning Tag-A-Log and apart from this (and Rosetta Stone) the others looked rubbish. Only problem is that we couldn't get it to work (sound-wise) on my Dad's laptop but we could on mine, although I think that's got something to do with his computer. Worth it.
