This is an excitingly different language learning series. Talk Now! uses games and quizzes as a basis for making the learning process fun and relaxing. There's no better way to teach an old dog new tricks and this fun element of the program means that your fears are forgotten as you absorb words and phrases without even realising you are learning them.

The interface is superb, very well put together and very user friendly.
I bought this cd based on the previous review and it did not disappoint. TalkNow! Offers a very simple and very effective formula; several categories each consisting of a simple tutorial followed by two tests, one easy and one hard. At the end there is a general test on all of the categories, leading to a certificate. Very simple, extremely effective and very enjoyable. Totally addictive and highly recommended!
Let's start with the good parts, the user interface was quite pleasant and straightforward. However the exercises are extremely tedious and do nothing to form associations within the mind - the games are infuriating with extreme repitition employed as a learning tool. In the end I wrote the words down and tried learning them parrot-fashion.
It was then the software went even further down in my estimations - having consulted my Polish girlfriend about some of the words, she informed me that many of them were written in a specific gender and it wasn't specified (so when asking to hire a car I was using the term a woman would use, moglybym etc). Moreover, some words were completely wrong e.g. klucsze for keys is inocorrect. Finally I had to shake my head at the choice of vocabulary, the best example of this I could find and they were legion, was in the food section. In a section on fruit and vegetables they didn't include the Polish word for cabbage and included the Polish word for chopsticks!!! I rest my case!
Stay well away, you'll learn nothing here.

For sure you won't be able to understand more than a few words and basic phrases but that's a very good starting point.
One think is you got to listen Polish in order to learn the pronunciation. At least for a complete beginner as me, you've got use a CD, just a book won't help a lot.
This CD has a great selection of topics: food, colors, first words, body, countries and more... it teaches a good pronunciations and also how to write the words.
Her favorite is "Body" since it offers a Zombi game - after guessing properly all the body parts - the terrified Zombi is awaken.
I really recommend it to all - adults and kids!
