Hello, I'm Talia Mason
I live in a large Yorkshire village with the youngest of my three daughters, my partner of ten years and my three cats and three dogs.
I studied to be a dog trainer and behaviourist but my main passion is, and always has been, writing.
Up until the age of ten I could hardly read at all and was way behind the other children of my age when it came to the skill if reading until a particularly unpleasant teacher made me angry enough to sit up most of the night to struggle my way through a book so that I could tell her where to shove her book.
As an imaginative child I found that books could take me to new lands that not even my overly fertile mind could dream up.
From then on I was hooked.
Yet often I would read a book and be dissatisfied with the outcome or the direction that the plot took and be left thinking that it would have better if X, Y and Z had happened, Which spurred me to weave my own tales and write them down.
Then one day a friend read one of these tales that I had scribbled down in one of the many note books that currently live in shoe boxes awaiting to be expanded, reworked and polished to become a saleable book.
That tale was The Hunted Heir, The first book in the gifted series and the first book that I have published and the first of many, many more to come.
Now, years later, I have since been diagnosed with lupus and spend much of my time battling this dreadful and agonizing disease, supporting others as they fight the same battle through the many support groups that I am a part of... or raising awareness so that we that suffer every second of every day would no longer have to hear the infuriating words 'but you look O.K.'
Yet, as it ever was, writing is still my escape. Other worlds, as they did when I was a child, take me away from the troubles and stresses of this world, along with a strong dose of codeine and a mug of good coffee I settle into my work, let reality drift away and get lost in my own imagination.
Soon there was the E KILLER, and then AYNESWORTHY HOUSE and DEATH SAID NO soon to be followed by the second book in the gifted series AZILLAH.
Where will my imagination take me next?
I have no clue but I'm sure that it will be an enjoyable yet exhausting journey and i hope you the reader get as much enjoyment from the reading as i get from the writing of it.
