This is great fun, and a great price too (if bought on kindle).
It's a series of short stories set in a shared fantasy world which is part old West cowboy, part steampunk and a dash of magic. It works pretty well and the authors here (most famous is probably Scott Lynch) take their own approach to the sandbox they are playing in, while remaining true to certain central themes. The stories are all fun and at times quite clever and you sense the authors have enjoyed the experience and that comes through in the way they present their stories. Fans of Chris Wooding's Kitty Jay series would probably enjoy this and it's a shame they didn't get him to contribute a story, maybe next time.
This is well worth picking up.

Was originally a little disappointed that Scott Lynch's story (first in the book) was so short, but I warmed immediately to his co-authors, who all turn out to be as accomplished as he is in this quirky genre (Wild west meets kung fu). Common themes tie the stories together but they are all unique and I think this genre has a lot more to offer.

Lovely idea and an excellent first story by Scott Lynch which was what had attracted me to the book in the first place. Unfortunately the rest of the 'Tales' were not up to the same standard. The steam punk side was a little absent as well. That is not to say that I would not look forward to some novels in this world.

This was an interesting concept of wild west meets far east interpreted by different authors. Some stories were better than others. A couple I found a bit tedious and some were well written. The good thing about short stories is that at least you can just skip the ones you don't like.
