Product Description

About the Author

I write the type of original, action-packed, violent crime thrillers that I know I would enjoy reading if they were written by such authors as: Lee Child, David Baldacci, Simon Kernick, Harlan Coben, Michael Billingham and their ilk. Over twenty years in the Prison Service proved great research into the minds of criminals, and especially into the dark world that serial killers - of who I have met quite a few - frequent. I live in a cottage a mile from the nearest main road in the Yorkshire Wolds, enjoy photography, the wildlife, and of course creating new characters to place in dilemmas that my mind dreams up. What makes a good read? Believable protagonists that you care about, set in a story that stirs all of your emotions. If you like your crime fiction fast-paced, then I believe that the books I have already uploaded on Amazon/Kindle will keep you turning the pages.

Another brilliant read I know I seem to be repeating myself when I say Michael Kerr's books are brilliant but they are. They are gripping, enjoyable, hold your interest from start to finish and well worth the money and this book was no exception right through the book it had you on the edge of your seat what was going to be the final out come of the abduction. I really liked the characters and the plot really was well thought out lots of twists again and enjoyed the way there were two stories running side by side BRILLIANT

Another very good read by Mr K. Loved this one. Just like his other stories, this book was unputdownable ( if that is a word!!). The more I read of Michael Kerr, the more I like. Trouble is now, I need to find another good author like him as I have finished all his books, (apart from the horror ones as I don't like horror.!!). By reading other people's reviews and by my opinion he has not let us readers down. Like I said before in a different review, if you are reading this review and other people's review, please take our advice and download these books as you will not be disappointed.

I really enjoyed this book, I have read almost all of M K'S books, and again this one lived up to all my expectations of another brilliant read.
The story line was great, and was a real page turner, I did not want it to end.
The amazing thing about MK, is that his books are so easy to get into, and hold your interest right up until the end.
With this book, you had no idea how things were going to turn out, so, not a predictable read.
Please keep them coming, all in all a brilliant read. Thank you !!

I was lucky to receive this as a free download before release date. Thank you so much for that.
I had high expectations and it didn't disappoint.
The more I read about Harpers Hellions, kidnap squad, the more I wanted a follow up book.
Having two investigations going on at the same time was good.

My only criticism and this could be me and nothing to do with the book, therefore have not marked it down, I found that I struggled with all the characters in the book as sometimes they was called by first name, then last name or nickname and started to wander who was who, especially the baddies. 50% through I started to keep notes on names and that helped. Like I said that could just be me, I will be interested if anyone else had the same difficulty when they read it.

And you need to read it, like all the other books by Mr Kerr. entertaining and great read.

Will have to start reading all the others again whilst waiting for the next book out.

Hmm, I have read most of Michael Kerrs books and they are always unputdownable, but not this one. Decent storyline but I am finding all the asides that ramble on a bit tedious. I dont really want to know about cases dealt with years ago by other people. The love interest is also starting to be a bit samey. So saying the storylines of rich kid being kidnapped and the trials of her being released alongside a cold case being investigated are very good, but the cold case went into the realms of fantasy that made me skip those pages.
I still have a couple of his books to read so I am hoping they are as good as the others and better than this, and that whoever is in it drinks anything other than JD which is a whiskey, not a whisky!

Absolutely brilliant. Definitely edge of your seat stuff. The plots were interesting and believable. Mr Kerr certainly knows his stuff, and knows how to keep you interested, there was something to grip you on just about every page. Also, even though all authors have a certain style, Mr Kerr seems to manage to have his own distinctive style of writing yet make every book he writes very different. One more thing ...... I don't think I have ever read a book that has used the word "bunkum" before!!!! I know I say it every time, but, well done Mr Kerr. X

Excellent book. Really enjoyed the whole story and all the different characters - especially liked Carla as it was a complete change. I enjoy the Matt Barnes stories but I must say I enjoyed this just as much. Keep up the good work Michael Kerr!
