Take A Chance is the 1st book in the Second Chances Series and also the 1st book I've read by this author but definitely wont be the last

I was really surprised how much I enjoyed this book
I am always really unsure when reading a book by a new to me author, so going into Take A Chance I didn't have any expectations... damn this book really is a brilliant read

I absolutely love Tom and Seb, they make the perfect couple. These guys are made for each other

I really felt for Tom, the poor guy goes through a lot of tough stuff in this book
Throughout all his troubles Tom stays true to himself and stays an amazing guy even though everyone who was supposed to love him has end up hurting him

Seb is so sweet, I love how he doesn't judge Tom for his life choices and really supports him through everything
He really is a all round sweetheart

I really enjoyed everything about this book
I love the gripping storyline and was hooked from page 1

I am so excited to read the next book in this series
I am hoping and praying it will be Ben and Geoff's book... they are characters featured in this book and will for sure have a really great story to tell, I am just dying to find out more on these guys

Take A Chance is a really gripping 4 star must read

Sometimes, less is more. There's a good story here but there are some eye rolling moments where unnecessary things occurred. Like the parents' phone call to the boss, Josh's embellishment of what happened at Sen's house, the A&E waiting room etc.. The story worked perfectly fine without trying to add extra scenarios to make it more interesting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely Take a Chance on this book! 23 April 2017

Definitely Take a Chance on this book!

At 15 years old Tom was kicked out for being gay. For four years he lived and survived the only way he could- being a rent boy. Seb just got a full time position at the company he worked at and is going places when he accidentally drives by a face from the past - Tom. Both guys had feelings for each other before Tom was kicked out, his shameful secret buried and lied about. They can't stop thinking about each other and Tom has to learn to open his heart to love, trust, and loyalty.

This is a good story and the characters are great. I look forward to the next story!

I gave it 5 stars. I thought it was thought provoking. I am so glad that Seb was there for Tom. I am glad, too, that he's invited them to stay. All of them deserve so much out of the life that they were handed. So thank you Megs for a beautiful story. I look forward to the next one.

I have to say that this was a very touching read for us.This is the kind of story that tugs at the heart strings as it did ours.I enjoyed the main characters Seb and Tom and getting to know them. You definably felt the pain that Tom was experiencing along with his betrayals and loneliness he felt.It broke my heart and I grieved right along with him.

I always pick a favorite character in a story and mine is going to be Seb.I found him to be sweet, kind, understanding, smart,
determined and non judgmental along with having a very big heart.I loved how he kept trying to help Tom and never gave up .Seb just wanted to help him get out of a really bad situation even though Tom fought him at every turn yet he never gave up thinking him a loss cause.I admired him for that. Seb was just a all around nice generous loving soul that cared about Tom and those of his friends and you could not help but love him for the kind soul he was.

Tom was more of a complicated character that had his up and downs but you had to love how strong he was in order to survive the things that he was forced to do.I loved how protective he was of his friends.I love how he was brave enough to put his trust in Seb all the while being scared out of his mind of getting hurt and being disappointed yet again.I loved seeing the broken spirit of this man gradually come back to life.

I enjoyed this heart wrenching story that involved parents who were suppose to love and protect their children yet turned their backs on them all because they didn't like their life style choices.A touching emotional story that had a couple following their hearts no matter what the consequences.I love when your able to find your soul mate and they are the one who helps you heal the parts of you that are broken just by believing in you as well as loving you.Makes your heart feel good.

We are giving this story 3 stars as I felt that there were some loose ends that should have been tied up when it came to Adam and Ben.I also missed that there was not an epilogue I just felt that the story just abruptly ended.I would have loved to have seen a glimpse into the future of this cast of characters and if any of them had found their happy ever afters...

After being forced to come out to his parents at the age of 15, Tom is thrown out and disowned. He's spent the last few years working the streets to try to survive and he's barely managing. Living in an abandoned house with no electricity along with four other rentboys isn't easy, but they do what they have to to get by. Out one night, he runs into someone from his past, his ex-best friend's older brother, Seb. When he sees Seb, he takes off.

Seb is bi, but in the closet where his family is concerned. After he runs into Tom on the street, he can't get him out of his head. He always had a bit of a crush on Tom when they were younger, but assumed he was straight. Will they get a second chance or is it too late and is Tom too damaged?

I love second chance romances. Anyone who reads my reviews probably knows this is one of my favorite tropes. This was a pleasurable read. It had some mystery and suspense to go along with the sweetness and romance. Tom and Seb were both likable characters and they were hot together, but they were missing the chemistry you look for in a romance. There wasn't a lot of spark between them.

The storyline was intriguing and I loved getting to know Tom's roommates and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them in the future, I'm especially curious about Ben. The other secondary characters of Seb's family, both his parents and his brother, Josh, were just utter bigoted douchebags that I wanted to hit in the head with a hammer!! Grrr..

All in all, this was an enjoyable read and a nice start to this series. I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Ben, Matt and Luke, as well as hoping to get some glimpses of Tom and Seb. Recommendable!

5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome read 12 April 2017

Wow. Just wow. What some people have to do to survive when they've lost everything is heart-wrenching. Some turn to prostitution, some alcohol, some drugs, and for some, all three or a combination of the three. Some may be in their early teens. Living on the streets, with little hope, where trust is almost non-existent, is fraught with danger.

Ms. Pritchard gives us a grim and very realistic glimpse into the lives of these people, some running away from intolerable living situations, and some, thrown out of their homes for their sexuality or teen pregnancy. Your heart will break for these kids.

Case in point: Tom. A good kid, thrown out by his parents at fifteen. It's heartbreaking to learn that in addition to his family, he loses all his friends. Living on the streets he turns to the only thing he can to survive: prostitution.

Ms. Pritchard's portrayal of Tom is superb. Readers can feel is anger at his parents, his best friend and his best friend's parents, as well as his despair at his situation and his desire to get out of his situation even though it seems hopeless. You can't help but feel admiration for the way he looks out for the four other male prostitutes he lives with, doing everything he can to make sure they're safe when working. Despite everything, he's still a good kid at heart.

Enter Sebastian, older brother to Tom's best friend. One can only imagine his shock when he finds Tom working the streets. His determination to help Tom and his frustration at Tom's reluctance to accept help him out of his situation. It's easy to understand why Tom doesn't want to trust Seb, wondering what kind of sexual favors Seb wants in return for his help.

Can Seb help Tom? Will Tom accept Seb's help? Read the awesomeness that is Take A Chance and find out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

I've read several "Pretty Woman"-type stories and this is undoubtedly the best.

In accordance with Amazon policies, I state that I was provided an advanced reader copy of Take a Chance for free in exchange for a fair and honest review.
