About the Author

Sharon Kay writes award-winning fiction and can never get enough reading time. She loves paranormal romance, with romantic suspense following close on its heels. She loves winter and black coffee, and is endlessly inspired to write kick-ass heroines and the men strong enough to capture their hearts.

Sharon lives in the Chicago area with her husband and son, and didn’t expect to write one book, let alone a series. But WICKED WIND and the Solsti series formed in her head one weekend and refused to stay quiet until she put pen to paper. Her characters tend to keep her up at night, as they banter, fall in love, and slay endless varieties of power-hungry demons.

This was really good, bit of anti climax when it came to the last fight scene, could have had a bit suspense and build up, but I have to say I do love her books and its a new series which is brilliant!! Bit pricey for how many pages thoigh

My first book by this author but I've seen her books recommended and in particular her Solsti Prophecy series and I now realise that this spins off from those books but I found it very approachable and had no difficulty in quickly immersing myself in this world of demons.
As the story begins Ria is in a magically induced coma as she has been seriously injured and it was feared she might not fully recover . Arawn is the leader of this band of Lash demons known as Watchers and he's pretty much stretched if honest yet he constantly finds the time to sit by Ria's bedside in the hope that she will recover and wake up. Drawn to her and yet knowing full well as his subordinate even if Ria did want him Arawn would never take advantage .
Ria slowly but surely pulls herself out of the darkness that grips her , Led by the sound of a voice that constantly commands her to wake up. When Ria opens her eyes it's to find her leader Arawn sitting at her bedside and boy is he a sight for sore eyes! Ria has for many years found Arawn fascinating but he lost his true Mate and has never sought to replace her. Yet Ria cannot help but notice Arawn is just as aware of her as she is of him . Sparks fly but Arawn is keeping a dark secret and it's one that would rock the bedrock of the Watchers.
Oo this had a lot going on. First there is obviously the sexual tension between the two leading characters but we also have very interesting supporting characters and I cannot wait to see how the next book plays out because , no I cannot say because that would ruin this one. What I can say is Ria has a very protective brother and a really funny sister in law.

(I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a review).

(This review may contain spoilers).

After reading the final book in the Solsti series, I was looking forward to being able to read about Arawn and Ria… so when I was given the opportunity to do so, I immediately jumped at the chance.

It was good to see that this book moved immediately into the aftermath of the previous series. I wasn’t left with much confusion about what was going on and it was really easy to see and feel the other characters’ concern about Ria.

I had a lot of sympathy for Arawn during this book. It was good to be able to have the opportunity to learn more about him as the events gradually unfolded… not just about his past with his first mate, but also about the history of his bloodlines.

I liked both Ria and Arawn as characters and it was good to be able to see them interacting with the other characters and also with each other. I especially liked Matthias’ protectiveness of his sister, even going so far as to stand up to his boss because he didn’t want Ria to get hurt.

I would have liked to be able to see more of the minor characters expanded upon. I had forgotten who Nevo was until later on, so although I knew he was one of the Lash demons, I didn’t remember that he had history with Ria.

There was a strong sense of urgency in this book, which meant that I was really tense while reading. I could picture most of the events really easily in my mind and I thought there was a good amount of action along with the romance.

I really did like the romance in the book. It was very graphic, but the descriptions fit with the characters and their personalities.

Tainted Kiss is a spin off series from the Solsti sisters and starts were the other series ended. It's a new series though and features the lash demons/watchers at the headquarters, starting with Arawn the leader.

Arawn is tough, strong and hides his inner self including some secrets. Lately though people have been noticing him visiting the health centre a lot!

Tiriana, was injured in battle and hasn't woken since, she's had a steady stream of visitors, the most common one is the leader of Watcher HQ.

I knew the world they lived in from other books, but enjoyed hearing about the realms again as they were introduced to new readers.

When Tiriana awakes, she's pleased to hear about her frequent visitor, it seems they have both been hiding how they feel about each other.

Arawn likes to take control in all things, but he has a strong partner in the book that doesn't take things lying down.....

As an added bonus if you've read previous series, you get treated to some familiar characthers appearing through the book, whether this will continue in next book I don't know, but I hope so.

I have to say I really enjoy this authors writing, it flows so well with characthers that you really care about.

Expect passion, lust, danger, and romance in book 1 of this new series,

Can't wait for next book, which you get a taste for in this book.
