Besides The Selective Mutism Resource Manual there are few books that research and practice together, this book has carefully chosen sections that explore the condition in the light of current practice and effective interventions. I have devoured it since it arrived and it will be very useful to me in my role as a professional supporting children with this condition.

This is an absolutely fascinating read. My daughter has been a selective mute since moving to senior school and we've seen many therapists, teachers and other people trying to find solutions for her.. This book contains sections from various specialists who can help including speech therapists, music therapists and psychologists. It also contains case studies by parents and people with selective mutism. It was great to have lots of information all in one place. A book I will definately recommend to others.

Many thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for the chance to read this one. It's one I will refer back to and reread.
