I went looking for a tablet that I could afford, and got one that could handle its own. The picture and sound on this tablet are great. I can even watch movies and not have a problem. If you are looking for a tablet that is a great value then you have come to the right place.
Excellent Price: You would have to pay at least £100 to get close to this spec right now.
Fast and responsive: I'm not a gamer but tried Powerboat racing to see how it managed, and the tablet handled this 3D game well. For simple office use, BBC IPlayer, and web browsing its excellent (just don't use the preinstalled browser app - i'll come to that later.)
Not too much junk pre-installed: Even with expensive phones and tablets, bloatware that can't be uninstalled and takes up space is very frustrating, but this tablet has kept it to a minimum.
Although the case feels solid, it's not fitted together very well, i was getting phantom presses until i gave it a bit of a squeeze and something clicked into place. The rear camera doesn't line up with the lense on mine, so that camera is useless. I had to get tweezers to remove my micro SD card as the case covers the slot slightly and prevents it ejecting. and i find myself have to wiggle the USB cable in and out as again the socket doesn't quite line up (it has a dedicated DC charger which lines up fine). This will all increase wear and tear and potentially reduce the life of the tablet if you're using these a lot. Some build quality issues are to be expected at this price though.
The built in browser has a homepage set that cannot be changed. Although you can change it in settings, it always reverts back. I'm sure this has generated some advertising income that has subsidised the price, but it's very annoying. I would recommend installing Google Chrome anyway.
Excellent for the price, just be realistic in what you expect. I'm keeping mine despite the build quality issues as i feel i have still got more than i have paid for.
Note: The internal storage is split, so if you get low space warnings, you'll have to move some apps to the other partition (Move to SD)
Further comments after almost a month:
I'm continually impressed by this tablet, having played around a bit i have found that if you install the updated rom (instructions came with my tablet) the app storage partition is increased to almost 1GB which makes a big difference and is definitely recommended.
This tablet plays Fifa 14 well but couldn't handle GT racing, i think this was down to the G Sensor being a bit twitchy though which made it unplayable.
If you are so inclined this tablet roots very easily with Root Genius.
I still can't believe this was only £60. - Bargain.
