I don't think the producers get how people actually use the Echo, given that the team are tech and media experts it's a disappointing effort. I gave this skill two weeks in my Flash briefing and only heard 3 unique sets of briefings - all of which were the audio equivalent of clickbait encouraging the listener to check out the podcast to hear the full story. Although This Week In Tech churns out regular content on a daily basis on numerous channels it's unfortunate that they don't spend a few extra minutes repackaging the audio for tech audiences using Amazons growing number of devices. Leos voice sounds amazingly rich and warm on an Echo loudspeaker, instead of one of his assistants let's just hear his take on the tech headlines updated at least a couple of times a day and you'll get a 5* rating.
Today's briefing was the one that made me disable the skill. Used to be varied stuff but today i just listened to a guy go um, er, uhh... Too many times as he waffled on way too long about a glucose monitor. It's supposed to be a flash briefing. Not a long bore.
Great that it exists, but lacks features. I used it every day but only because it's the only one that does this. It needs better bookmarking and control of the playback. Forward and back, or, remember this part would be good. So much potential.
I'm sure in the early days when I installed the app it gave like 5 top tech headlines of the day which is what I want from the app but instead recently we just get a load of people rambling on about one stupid story.
