Cheap product, the spanner that came with the item basicly broke instantly on first use, however i had a spanner that would fit it right. The actual puller worked for me on 3 cranks that needed pulling off. But the last one was imensly difficult to get off and on closer inspection the threads where becoming very knackered, i don't think it will be pulling many more cranks,

So if you need this just to pull a couple of cranks off and you won't be needing it again, and you have an AJ then this is for you
If you want to regularly pull your crank off to clean it then don't buy this

All I can say with this tool is you get what you paid for. Yes its cheap but quality is clearly lacking. Don't get me wrong it will do a job and pull your crank out but don't expect it to last because after while the thread will start slipping and you end up buying another one. What is the conclusion ? If you are planing to use this tool occasionally once or twice a year then go ahead, but If you are planning to remove your crank out quite often, buy something better because this tool wont last you for a long time.

I got this to take the cranks off my old bike. After no luck with getting the cranks off using other bits and bobs from my toolbox, I decided maybe I should get the proper tools to do the job. These do the job perfectly but the handle that came with it (which to be honest, I didn't realise I would get) was a bit on the weak side. It may be that the 2nd hand bike that hadn't been properly serviced before I got it, was all a bit siezed up, but the handle bent and nearly broke when trying to remove the drive side crank. I ended up using a spanner, and got the crank of eventually.

One word of warning though, I also found the the end of the 'pusher' go into the square taper of my bottom bracket. It didn't seem to do too much, but it was still a little unnerving and I was worried it would damage the threads.

Anyway, decent tool at a decent price, but I may eventually go for one of the heavy duty ones with the built in handle.

Really between 2 & 3 stars, the spanner is flimsy, but the puller did the trick, but it did tear out the cranks threads but I just wanted it off so it wasn't an issue for me personally. It all fairness it may have been partly my fault, I will know next time!

Needed a cheap puller to help remove the crank and fit a new chain ring. At under £3 this was excellent value. The red spanner was a thrown away but the main puller worked well. I did find that the silver spindle that pushes against the bottom bracket was starting to cut itself in to the bottom bracket nut thread so I had to put a small screw into the female thread space and then I was able to apply enough pressure to pop off the crank.

I couldn't believe I would need a specialist tool just to remove the crank of my son's bike, but I did. So, I bit the bullet and ordered the cheapest one I could find from the UK. It arrived promptly and did exactly what I needed it to do.

The socket / crank puller worked well to remove a crank that hadn't been removed in over 10 years. The supplied spanner however, bent during use. Not a problem I just used a big adjustable spanner, (which also gives better leverage).

Buy this for the crank puller at a bargain price, not for the spanner.

Got this the other day, bought this because it was cheap for a one off job of removing my crank. Too be honest I wasn't expecting much for the money, so I shouldn't have been too disappointed that the spanner part failed almost instantly. The actual puller itself seems reasonably well made, I couldn't get a good grip on the spanner part and turn it, mainly due to the fact that it is quite thin and you can't really grip it (hurt my hand!) so I got out the trusty rubber mallet. about 10 hits later it was mashed, fortunately I had a spanner of the correct size and that worked a treat. I know it was cheap, but I don't think I can give it more than 3 stars as it isn't capable of doing the job, had it come without the spanner then it would have got 5 stars as the puller is fit for purpose. Buy it because it is cheap and you have good quality spanners at home, put the spanner included straight in the bin and you will not be disappointed!
