I like Suzie Smith's style of writing: her narrative flows very well and is a pleasure to read. However, the end of the book seemed rushed - it was littered with mistakes and needed proof-reading.

I think it is unfair to describe the book as pornographic like one reviewer has. The descriptions of the sex chat and sexual acts it contains read more like horror than pornography. Any woman who has come across predatory men online will recognise the language in the sex chat sections: it is not exaggerated, unrealistic or included purely to shock. Despite the graphic sexual content, the book is not even remotely sexy or titillating, in fact it is a complete turn-off and I am sure that is what Suzie wanted to achieve. I found the subject matter engaging because I have come across some very manipulative men online, although Claire, the main character, is an intelligent lady and it is hard to believe that she would not have been suspicious of this man from the outset. The book seems to jump from Claire being single and meeting lots of men to suddenly being under the spell of Richard, but just how he managed to ensnare her was not really demonstrated at all so the reader just thinks that Claire is being really stupid. However, I know some women continually ignore red-flag warnings because they want a relationship to work, but Claire is trapped before meeting the man or even chatting to him via a webcam. I find this very hard to believe and would have liked Suzie to spend more time dealing with Richard's early messages to demonstrate how he is able to manipulate Claire in such an expert fashion without arousing suspicion.

I was disappointed with the ending of the book, although I won't elaborate because I don't want to spoil it for other readers.

Vulgar in parts and should be rebranded as semi porn. Not believable, not having even met someone would you change your name, move, send personal info, leave your children, leave your job? I didn't believe women would.

This is a brilliant read and had me gripped from the start through to the end. I'd compare this to the works of Sophie Hannah. Is there a sequel?

A very good story; the blurb given will tell you all about it. I would have given it 5 starts but found the ending a bit of a let-down. It was also hard to believe that anybody could be so desperate as to do the things Claire did just to hold onto a relationship that was almost all virtual or via phone with this sick man; however as they say, I wasnt in her shoes. As this will no doubt help potential readers decide whether to get this or not, there are alot of very graphic sex scenes.
