Description says low profile bracket included, there wasn't one in either of the two adapters I bought

I've purchased three of these in the past and they have always included a low profile bracket. Just rec'd two today, no low profile bracket included in either box. Amazon's description clearly states that there is one included so either they have a batch that ommited the brackets or TP-Link have changed the spec so they are no longer included.
I phoned TP-Links UK support line, and guess what, you get through to China, and the person I spoke to, bearing in mind it was "technical support" didn't have a clue what a low profile bracket was. I don't think she could even understand English properly.
Oh and by the way the adapters I rec'd were for the Romanian market with a Romanian helpline phone number and website. Perhaps that's got something to do with it!!
well they're going straight back to Amazon for a refund, what a bore!!

Low profile bracket is NOT included. Never got the chance to fit this. I needed to fit the low-profile bracket as it was going into a min-PC. It was not included in the box despite it being stated in the title and body of the Amazon product description. On contacting Amazon I was told that the only option was to return for replacement. I did so, the 2nd one also did not have the bracket included so I returned for refund. Looking at Amazon.com reviews it seems that the manufacturer has recently stopped including a low profile bracket and Amazon are not aware.

Got it for my gaming PC so I can place it where getting wire is not that practical.

It was pain in the ass to set up on Win10 without an internet connection, tried a lot of different drivers until I just dragged PC and monitor to a place where ethernet cable is available and installed drivers from Windows Update. But I mostly use Linux since 2007, maybe I am just lame at installing drivers on Windows. :)

The reception quality is also pretty poor, showed one bar and frequently lost connection in place where five other devices, including two laptops, two phones and chromecast ultra, had no problems with WiFi.

OK, I thought that maybe it was just too much WiFi usage by other devices in the same area, so I've decided to put an access point in the same room, there still is a hassle with a cable to put, but I can put it closer to the center of house and on the wall, so that's still better. After that it works without problems, 4 bars out of 5.

So, it is OK if you don't mind to work on making it work and have very good WiFi signal in the place where you expect to use it, or if you are prepared to boost signal there by an extra extender or access point.
I would still suggest to look for the more recent model that is less problematic to set up on Win10.

Some of my problems problems may have been caused by me, some by amount of other devices using wifi, etc. etc, that's why 4 starts instead of 2 or 3.

Your mileage may wary. :)

Good Value - But Weak Signal

I purchased this mini-pci card to set up Wi-Fi signal in my flat. The card is so tiny that even when it's plugged in right next to my graphics card, it doesn't block the fan. The included antenna is really tiny though. The card itself doesn't produce much of a signal so you get 1 bar of signal where another Wi-Fi card I have will get full bars. However, this card does work well and is a good value for money. Installation into windows 7 x64 was flawless. This card is Rev. 2 so perhaps some of the other bad reviews were for Rev. 1? The drivers on the mini cd are exactly the same as the ones you can download so everything is up to date. I recommend that when you install the drivers that you select "use windows to manage connections" because if you don't then the TP-Link seems to reset everything to it's own settings.

This card doesn't drop signals like some other cards I've owned so it will be useful for those who are playing games. I ordered an additional antenna. The "TP-Link TL-ANT2405C 2.4GHz 5dbi Indoor Omni-Directional Antenna," which has a 2 meter cable and boosts the signal up to 4 bars. [link below]. I highly recommend this antenna as it's under a fiver shipped. It really high quality, does exactly what it claims to do and has a coated magnet in the base so it sticks tightly to the top of my computer case.

You could spend the £15 on a more expensive card but it's not going to work any better than this card plus the antenna would still be tethered to the back of the card which gets in the way of the DVI cable and being hidden away in the back always diminishes the signal strength.

Otherwise except for a few minor drawbacks, I'm very happy with my purchase all around and I recommend this if you're on a tight budget.

I purchased this wireless card for my new PC build which I completed yesterday. Installation was a breeze, simply popped it into my spare PCI-E slot on my motherboard and secured it in place, no cable required. Software installation via the disc included is also extremely simple to get setup and connect to your home network.

The downside of this card is that it is under performing for me quite badly. I constantly get 1-2 bars out of the total 5 in Windows 7, and browsing/downloading is awfully bad. It's not to the point where I can't browse, but compared to everything else connected in the house, it's slow. My laptop which I place right next to the desktop in the same position somehow receives 4 bars at a constant level, so I'm not sure why this TP-Link card is being so slow. I am planning on purchasing and connecting a powerline to my desktop now, because downloading 10GB game files to my desktop is just unbearable with the speed I'm getting.

Most likely I just have the card in a bad location, there are multiple walls and 1 floor separating my router, so that may be the reason. Overall I'm happy with the products' ease of use, but for my setup I will require wired connection instead, so just be warned if you're card is in a bad location for signal!

I originally connected them using D-Link Powerline modems, but they kept disconnecting at inconvenient moments, requiring me to run downstairs to power cycle the bloody things. So instead I ran a CAT 5 cable along the wall up the stairs – that’s what caused the row. “That looks terrible” she said. “Yeah but it makes a great connection” I replied. So of course I removed it and replaced it with an 802.11n adapter dongle thingy plugged in to a USB port. That kind of worked, but kind of slowly.

So now I have this device. I get an 800Mbs+ connection (802.11ac) that works 100% reliably, without cables or dongles. Job done, harmony restored.

Initially i was using TL-WN725N on my desktop and i wasnt satisfied with the range/reception capabilities when it came to performance as it affected the ping and actual speed by more than 50% at the distance i was using it at.
So i decided to check this product out. I was very skeptical at first but i bought it with a good lightening deal for ₹570.
Believe me, once i attached it on my motherboard i took a big sign of relief as to my expectations it just did not improve the signal strength but also the ping and speed was back to original and it actually got as snappy as it was supoosed to be. It wont disappoint you as it is strong and effective.

J'ai tout d"abord téléchargé le driver (pilote) sur le site de TP-Link, car je n'ai plus de lecteur CD/DVD sur mon PC. Mais il y'a un mini CD dans la boîte pour le pilote également. J'ai également téléchargé TP-link Utility.

J'ai ouvert la boîte, j'ai déballé la carte réseau et je l'ai mis dans mon PC. La carte a été détectée immédiatement. J'ai ensuite installé le pilote. Aucun problème rencontré.

J'ai ensuite installé le utility et avec ça (et évidemment il vous faut votre password Wifi), 15 secondes et je naviguais sur le web.

Donc en résumé, tout fut très facile à installer et la vitesse semble très bien.
Je recommande cette carte réseau !

I first downloaded the driver (driver) from the TP-Link site because I do not have a CD / DVD drive on my PC, but there is a mini CD in the box for the driver I also downloaded TP-link Utility.

I opened the box, unpacked the network card and put it in my PC. The card was detected immediately. I then installed the driver. No problem encountered.

I then installed the utility and with that (and obviously you need your password Wifi), 15 seconds and I was browsing the web.

So, everything was very easy to install and the speed seems very good.
I recommend this network card!

It is still better than the USB wifi adapters I've used. I have used it for 2 months now and have had no issues so far. The I/O plate on the device is a little longer than I expected so had some issues while installing it. Overall I would recommend buying it.

Drivers keep crashing the computer (windows 10) - never got it to work

This does not seem to be compatible with Windows 10, at least with the ASUS motherboad Z87-A.

Worth it for the price. Picks up my WiFi connection from a further distance than any other solution I had. And the connection doesn't drop in the middle of gaming sessions. Easy to install. IF YOU ARE NOT Technologically inclined, stay away from getting pci-e solutions, as the hardware installation process should be done in a "proper" way, in that case, I would recommend picking a USB based adapter instead. Make sure to grab the drivers from the tp-link website prior to switching your existing card, cause it wont work out of the box without drivers. HIGHLY recommend to download their utility. Often times windows 10 WiFi menu breaks, so having a more reliable software to connect is far batter. Price at the time of this review is $60 CAD.

I ordered the TP Link archer as an alternative to 30 feet of ethernet cable for my new computer. I was originally going to purchase a cheaper model, but upon doing some research, I discovered that many older wifi cards do not officially support windows 10. Being that this was my first time building a computer, I wanted a brain dead simple installation process, and that is what I got. The TP Link archer works hassle free with my new Windows 10 computer, and works quite well.

One thing to note is that the antenna must be positioned properly for optimal performance. I find that having the antenna like so \ | / gives me good performance, but this may vary based on your computer's location, so experiment a little bit.

ACHTUNG!

Für die Leute die Mac Pro besitzen, in meinem Fall jetzt Mac Pro 3.1 die Karte funktioniert 1A, beste Empfang sogar besser als mit der originale AirPort - Karte! Keine Treiber waren notwendig! Ich hatte vor kurzem noch den letzten El Capitan 10.11.6 drauf und jetzt auch noch die Sierra 10.12.4 installiert, das eigentlich von Apple Seite nicht für ältere Macs gedacht ist und selbst auf Sierra funktioniert die Karte sehr gut !!!

Ich kann die Karte absolut Empfehlen!!!

Muchos se quejan de que no funciona en Windows 10 pero es todo por su culpa, me tomo 1 minuto conectarla y otro minuto en instalar el controlador que esta la web de tp-link ( que ya habia descargado desde antes ) y listo ya tenia red inalambrica sin siquiera necesidad de reiniciar pero como dije, hacer eso no te va a funcionar si no actualizas primero Windows 10, hay un update en especifico que se necesita aunque no recuerdo bien cual.

Pero bueno, esta funcionando de maravilla, la señal siempre esta llena en 2.4ghz y 2 barritas en 5Ghz y consigo los 80mb/s de mi conexion contratada.

Contras: Supongo que hubiera sido perfecta si tuviera bluetooth? Pero bueno hoy en dia hay muchos adaptadores bluetooth bastante baratos y funcionales.

En pocas palabras no la compres, dejó de funcionar en Windows 10 con el Fall Creators Update y desde el 2017 TP-LINK no actualiza el driver cosa que haría que esta tarjeta funcionara nuevamente. Como muchos recomiendan solamente compra una WiFi PCIe card que tenga Intel. Ésta es Broadcom y ni siquiera funciona en Linux. HORRIBLE!

Personalmente dopo una settimana di utilizzo pressoche' ininterrotto su windows 10 scaricando i driver dal sito ufficiale non ho fatto altro che inserirla al posto della vecchia scheda, scaricato i driver per windows 10 ed e' funzionata da subito senza problemi...personalmente la consiglio, poi comprendo anche chi magari ha avuto problemi di inconpatibilita' come poi li ho avuti io con la sua collega Asus.

I am using Windows 10 with Asrock Z87 Killer motherboard. 4790k

pros: easy install, fast and stable connection, much better than USB ones.

cons: for some reason its not working with my Asrock Z87 Killer motherboard PCIE 2.0X1 slot, have to use one of the PCIE 3.0X16 slot which is using for GPU or others. I am not sure why, I have four PCIE 2.0X1 slots and three PCIE 3.0X16 slots on my motherboard, so it will be really nice if I can use one of the pcie 2.0, but no luck.
Would be nice if they can put system requirement on the page, cuz its only says "put the card into pci or pcie slot" on the menu.
Now I am ending with no more empty PCIE 3.0 slot.(have another M.2 nvme ssd card on the last pcie 3.0)
