The TP-Link Access Point should be able to wireless-enable any device that has an ethernet socket. You want to use Client mode.
Various helpful reviews have already been posted - I would add a few suggestions...
You can avoid changing the IP address of your computer if it already has an address within the 192.168.1.xxx range (known as a subnet). This is defined within your wireless router (or by the wireless access point if you use a wired router/AP combination). You can find the subnet from the router configuration. Alternatively, in Windows, run CMD and then type "ipconfig" into the command window. This will display the IP address the computer is currently allocated. Router/AP manufacturers use different subnets by default, normally 192.168.0.xxx, 192.168.1.xxx or even 192.168.2.xxx. If your computer is not in the 192.168.1.xxx subnet, then you will have to change its address temporarily, as documented.
Either way, once you've got access to the admin function at 192.168.1.254, change the TP-Link address to one which is more usable i.e. one within the subnet of your computer's original address, because your computer will then be able to talk to it when you switch it back. (Even if you're already using the 192.168.1.xxx subnet, I'd still recommend changing away from 254 because it's possible another device might choose it.) The recommendation is to use a static IP. A better alternative is to use Dynamic IP, because then the TP-Link will automatically have a usable address provided by your router. You should then define a static address for the TP-Link's MAC address in the router's DHCP configuration. This tells your router to always use a specific address whenever it sees the TP-Link. By using DHCP, various other confinguration values are supplied by the router and you don't have to redefine them (with possible errors) in the TP-Link. If you don't define a static address for the MAC in the router, then the TP-Link will just be allocated an address within the router's DHCP range, but not necessarily always the same one. This will make accessing the TP-Link admin function difficult.
Don't enable the DHCP server in the device when using client mode. It's not needed and is just adding complexity - the device attached to the TP-Link will use the existing DHCP server in your router. If you choose to use a dynamic IP for the TP-Link as suggested above, it'll be disabled anyway.
In summary, it appears to work well (I've had no problems) and is comparatively easy to configure. It's less than half the price of a major manufacturer's AP I already have, so it's a snip at the price. It comes complete with an ethernet cable to connect to the client device. Recommended.
I set mine up to work in client mode, which basically allows me to have a wired network connection in a remote location; IE plugged my smart TV into this device and it wirelessly connects to my home network as if I'd plugged the TV network cable directly into my router.... thereby saving me running a CAT5e cable to my TV or using an ugly and obtrusive wireless USB dongle (and all the related messing about with network keys etc)
After setting up the wireless capability by copying and pasting my WPA2 AES network key into the device, and setting the device's new fixed IP and disabling DHCP so it doesn't issue IPs to devices connected to it (My router handles all that) I was pretty much ready to go... I then unplugged it from my laptop and put it in the TV room, plugged my TV into it, and it auto connected immediately to the home network and Internet. Simple
For those new to this sort of thing, each setting has a comprehensive on-screen instruction, and the small paper manual is surprisingly simple with clear diagrams and easy to understand explanations of the modes, and how to set them up.
In short, this is an amazing product for the price, and I have no problems recommending it. The only thing that lets it down is that it only has one RJ45 socket at the back, meaning you'd have to buy a separate switch if you want to connect more than one device.
Overall, very pleased. It does exactly what I want and has behaved perfectly since setting it up.
Edit: I have since (Feb 2012) bought another one of these and both are currently in use. In addition to using the item as an Access Point, I have since set one up as a Repeater and the other is used as a Client - with no issues whatsoever. This is an extremely versatile device and I would not hesitate to recommend it, with the proviso that the buyer read the instruction booklet!
Edit: I have since (Jan 2013) had the opporutunity to set up the newer revision of this product (with the moulded/curved case). It now comes with DHCP enabled to allow easy initial setup. So, now you don't have to set a static IP address just to sent the unit up. It still has all the various modes of operation and a similar web UI to the older version. With DHCP enabled out of the box the one setup issue I had with the device is addressed so, if anything, it deserves its 5 stars even more now!

Best part amazon delivered it to me in 12 hr.
Very good service from amazon
8) Impostiamo WAN Link Typs su PPPoA; MTU Size; MTU Bytes a 1500.
