I bought a prepaid EE SIM card with 6GB of data along with this router. Sim was initialised within a minute and once I was signed up with the provider, this router was good to go. The network name and password are stuck to the device and can be easily changed by logging into the routers home/admin page.
The display shows the strength of your 3G signal, how many devices are connected to the unit as well as your service provider's name and battery remaining. More importantly, it displays how many mega/gigabytes you have used out of your plan and this can be reset when required. Upload and download speeds are also shown.
The battery life is excellent as one would expect from a power bank. When on Wifi only (as in not being used to charge another device) the battery life is long lasting. I have used it extensively since purchasing and I would imagine that it would take quite some time to exhaust the battery when using it as a router.
As a powerbank, it performs just as well. If you are using it to charge a device, quickly press the on/off button twice. This will change the mode to Power Bank. It's the most efficient method of charging a device. Charging a mobile device takes about the same time as charging it from a car's cigarette lighter. I don't think it would be ideal to be using it as a charger on a regular basis as it might not be overly kind to a device's battery but it certainly could charge a phone fully if you were in a bind.Read more ›
Tried the competition first from EE.. the ' osprey ' .. Perfect device for thieves.. No more of them suffering from post traumatic theft disorder, just press the on button again and it will display the serial number and security code for you every time.
Clever these Chinese, they think of everything.
My advice ? Stick with T-Link every time they don't come much better. Hope this latest Chinese idea is a sick joke.
The lack of other security issue comments re this modem assures me that this is probably a one-off, especially now I have taken the above security measures. I still think this is a magic little device and very pleased to have come across it.

Been working really well since purchase. No issues at all. If I had had a 4G SIM at the time then would have purchased from the same manufacturer and supplier.Published 6 days ago by Stefan K.
