Solid, strong signal throughout my home which has allowed me to put my Virgin superhub into modem mode. Setup is pretty much idiot-proof and has a very simple and functional app made by TP-Link QR coded on the box for basic network modifications as well as control of devices, parental limits etc.
The device itself is aesthetically pleasing and has the multi-position trio of antennae to allow control of the signal - a very useful feature. The USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports are a great addition for using a flash drive as a network drive or setting up a printer etc.
You should note that this is the device which takes an ethernet cable in for the data, and not a phone line. If you currently have a cable setup for internet access, you will need to keep your current router but can switch it's wireless communication off and have a single ethernet cable connect the two devices to each other.
Couldn't fault this device at all and I'm very glad to have gotten it at this price - it has improved my general day to day internetting massively.
Easy to set up, good signal and works well. It resolved the incompatibility between my MacBook Pro and Virgin Superb 2ac, and I got speeds up to 210Mbps on my 200Mb connection.. wirelessly!
I have tried the Superhub 2ac, AirPort Extreme, Wavlink 1200AC and now this. This TP-Link gives the highest transfer rate to my MacBook Pro out of all of them.
I've disabled the wireless access point on the router provided by my cable ISP, and I'm now running the CISCO router in bridge mode and using this is my wireless access point and router.
I've had zero issues with this since I've been using it, and found the DLNA and SMB servers were really good too!
For non-technical users they will pleased to know this it works with no fuss, plug it in, follow the quick start guide to secure your network and set up some preferences if you have any and enjoy the new AC speeds and more reliable wireless connection whilst still maintaining comparability with your older wireless devices that aren't equipped with the newer technology.
