Children love to draw, and the Megasketcher from Tomy is a fun, clean, and tidy variation on the traditional pencils and paper. The Megasketcher measures roughly 45 x 30 cm (18 x 12 inches), with the magnetised 'screen' taking up most of the surface area. A magic 'pen' (attached by a piece of string to avoid losing it under the sofa) allows children to draw, scribble, and write, while the four magnetised stamps add a different dimension to youngsters' designs. Once a composition is complete, or if one too many mistakes have been made, simply pull the eraser lever up and down and it wipes away the redundant drawings. This kind of drawing aid has become a firm favourite, thanks mainly to its ability to be used over and over again no matter how many mistakes are made. The Megasketcher is a fun, practical way of developing artistic awareness, creativity, and fine and gross motor skills in children, and is perfect for long car journeys or rainy afternoons. Suitable for children aged 3 years and over.

The premium screen of this much loved classic allows budding artists to draw clear, crisp pictures. The pictures magically disappear with a sweep of the screen eraser. The Megasketcher pen draws thin lines and four shape stampers are included to inspire their artistic creativity. Recommended for ages 3+.

Not suitable for children under three years old due to safety restrictions, the Megasketcher is a fun, practical way of developing artistic awareness, creativity and fine and gross motor skills in children above that age. Simple and easy to draw with the attached stylus, a quick swipe with the button and you're left with a clean slate. Intuitive and easy fto play with for kids, not many movable parts, making it it robust and longer lasting. Big play area and sturdy enough to take a hammering, but light enough to hold ( handle helps with portability) and use for little hands.
It's a deceptively simple toy but the reason why it persists, is because it very good at what it does and kids enjoy drawing with it and developing their imagination. You could spend a lot more money on toys that become rarely used and disguarded, but kids ( and adults!) will always be drawn ( no pun intended)) to this
The magnetic pieces you get clip in really well so do not fall out and the shapes look exactly like they are supposed to. The pen is nice and strong, well made and thin tip which allows good drawing. The string was a bit shorter than I expected but it did not effect use.
The eraser works well, and clears all of the drawing on it. The sketcher is a good size for carrying, by myself and my children.
One of the better sketchers I have purchased and would recommend for any parents out there wanting a strong reliable one.
The size is very good though, However really annoyed with the quality when drawing though, and to rub out etc is beyond silly. Should have read all the reviews not just the good ones. You Live and learn I suppose.
The only slight problems are that the 'stamps' are very difficult to remove from their recessed home on the top of the Megasketcher and even I struggle to click them out and back in place. Also, one swipe of the thing which clears the drawing area, isn't actually enough to completely clear it. Unless you swipe it very, very slowly, it'll take 3 or 4 attempts before your previous masterpiece has disappeared. Lastly, the string which attaches the 'pen' to the unit is slightly too short.
Basically, it does what it says on the tin.
