Product Description

Make objects appear to magically float in mid-air. Place any object in the chamber and see it appear to hover. The chamber creates an optical illusion, tricking you into thinking a reflection is a real object. Comes with red ball, but place any small object in the chamber and see its 3D image appear to float!

The box contains a small, 14 cm, round hologram chamber and a small red plastic ball, to place inside. It includes instructions, information about this experiment and the way it works, and information about where we can find relevant exhibitions. This is not suitable for very small children under the age of three.

I bought this for my ten year old nephew, as it is very interesting, extremely fun and a great way to talk about science. It is very easy to use; just place, the little red ball or any other small enough object, inside the chamber, and watch its reflection floating in the centre of the chamber's hole. It is then very easy to explain to the surprised child how this is possible, as the box provides all the information.

Although both the chamber and the object are very small, there are so many things that can be placed inside; coins, beans, small Lego people, small earrings, the options are endless and children have such a great imagination.

In total, this is an excellent gift for children, but also a fun and unusual gift for grownups. Also as the hologram chamber is in a nice box, it is really easy to gift-wrap.

the chamber works perfectly as it promises but it is a bit too small affecting the size of items u can use to create the holographic effect. fair size for the price thow while the larger ones cost ten times the value of this one so... prety good purchase for curiosity satisfaction no big expectetions!

the effect is impressive. however, the chamber is very small, works with objects max 2 cm wide, 0,5 cm tall.
coins are giving a very good image, but the mirror inside is much too easy to scratch (a coin moving inside is damaging the mirrors very fast)

I'd seen one of these in operation at a training school for scientists and thought what a great curio it would make. It was on that basis that I bought this.

My disappointment with the product is that it is so small - about 5" diameter. The one I'd seen previous was about 12" diameter and, as is often the case, size does matter!

With size comes a proportionate viewing height and angle to actually see the illusion. Also comes a proportionate size of object that can be displayed. This product can do little more than display the included button object, "boring!", and a paracetamol tablet, "slightly more interesting - yawn!"

Find a bigger alternative to avoid disappointment.

hi all, as said this item is really small, less than 22cm diameter. What disappointed me was the mirrors; first it cant be opened (or i was unable to) however the mirrors are not at all smooth as you expect a mirror to be this will influence the reflection of more complex items. It is a nice decorative item and may lit the conversation, the illusion works only from some angles but unless you watch it at 0° or 90° (above) the effect works well. Recommended fun toy, not just for kids.

Bought this as a secret santa present. Even with that in mind, it was such a disappointing product that I chose to get another gift to give and this has now been lying on my desk for several months. Can't imagine who to give it to or what to do with it. Can't imagine anyone would get joy or kicks, even for comedic value, out of this.

Good for kids of all ages (not under 3 because of small part) but kids are fassinated to watch their small object (any they can find of about 1p coin size) appear to hover in front of them. Place the object in the small dish which contains clever reflecting mirrors which cast an hollographic image. COOL!
