Thank goodness all three of these books are now available, as I devoured all three very quickly!
This first book introduces a great group of characters and gets us well into the story. I found it by turns funny, sweet, hot and exciting. I love the premise of how they first met, and what they do for a job. I like that other books and authors get dropped into the story - especially when they are also favourites of mine.
Find yourself a quiet corner and sit down and enjoy the ride!
~~Wicked Reads Review Team~~
I would have rated this much higher and left a better review if it had not been a trilogy. I have really begrudged paying as much as this is for only 200 pages worth. I got the 2nd book by accident when ordering, so bought the first one when I realised what I'd done.
Firstly the male character Blake is no 'Alpha' male. He's just a grown man with the mind of a horny teenager and talks about his cock twitching far too many times! Although he was quite funny in his attitude to Jens finance. I didn't enjoy the stereotypical Jewish grandma and all the Yiddish speak either... OTT
I liked Jen and it was nice to have a female lead with a back bone and no torrid past. Her friends were fun too and the conversations between them was good.
It's not brilliantly written and it's full of poor editing and I feel bad for the author that the publishers didn't pick up on these. The worse part though is that the whole book (s) just felt like a walking advertisement, there's actually a point in the book where a focus group is being held and pretty much every 'Dom' and his book is mentioned. I felt like I was reading some sort of homage to Eroms.
It isn't a bad plot, but the fact that it's a trilogy with so few pages, the poor writing and the cheesiness means that I won't be bothering with book 3. Sorry
Seems a decent wee story, some funny scenes, plenty of sensual tension between Jen & Blake, Jens fiancee is a plank! Her friends seem fun tho and although Blake is a playboy, he's not a bad boy at heart.
Poor Jen at the end! 😱 Roll on the next book....
What a must read book
Oh My!! First of the series and what a start i found this book very hard to put down
I love the story build up with the characters you can feel the chemistry between Jennifer and Blake
I did have the giggles with the Shabbat and when Jennifer saw what Blake was doing in the guest bathroom :)
Blake's Grandmother is the best (sounds like mine) i did feel at home with the Bernstein's.
We also see Blake start Operation Dickwick lets try and eliminate the Dentist i did laugh as Bradley comes across as a nerd to me away and it came across that he had no sort of feelings for Jennifer that she always come's 2nd to everything. so i guess i was cheering on Blake to win I did do a woo hoo when Blake chomped on Bradley's fingers at the dental surgery when he faked a tooth ache. I don't wanna give much more away you have to read it to see what happens
Can't wait for Book 2
I loved book 1 of That Man it had a bit of everything its funny, sexy and I loved that its written from both Jennifer and Blake's pov. Jennifer is newly engaged to her long term boyfriend but while out one night with her best friends takes part in a game of truth or dare and ends up kissing another man while blindfolded, enter Blake Burns.
This is the first book of a trilogy and I would definitely recommend that you have book 2 ready and waiting
