Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Customers have mixed views on the sensor accuracy. Some find the temperature sensor accurate and the temperature alarms excellent. The humidity sensor is separate from the wind and rain gauges, allowing it to be accurate. However, others report issues with the rain and anemometer sensors failing.
"...I also like the wind chill feature via a thermometer built into the anemometer which for me is accurate except when the sun is shining, the warmth..." Read more
"...1. Outside sensor keeps failing - synch up and after 2 days stops connecting so manually have to resynch by turning off main unit 2...." Read more
"...The temperature and humidity sensor is separate from the wind and rain gauges (unlike on our previous weather station), allowing it to be positioned..." Read more
"...The rain and anemometer sensors both failed...." Read more
Really easy to use right out of the box (once you've worked out where to site the gauges - this took me about 5 years with a previous weather station I never opened - but that's another story...). Lovely display, good transmission, ok computer program (rather Windows 98ish, reminds me of an early version of Lemmings, but functional and alright and works with Windows 7) and seems pretty accurate.
If you want an amateur weather station - this should be your choice.
Really wanted to like this - even with far too many faults for me not to return it. 1. Outside sensor keeps failing - synch up and after 2 days stops connecting so manually have to resynch by turning off main unit 2. Rain guage has never worked - still waiting for 1 mm - since February (trust me, it has rained!) 3. Software is something out of the 90's - and didnt work on one machine with my Windows 10 upgrade, and no support advise if there was a newer version Batteries on all 3 parts have been changed - but does not resolve the issues Main unit is good - although now just use it to see the temperature, really should send the whole lot back....
Received this and carefully read manual as quite a few people mentioned that it wasn't the clearest. I agree it could be improved. Put it all together and set up the sensors temporarily to check they were working. The rain and anemometer sensors both failed. Contacted the company who responded straight away, asked me to send faulty parts back so they could be checked and replaced. No easy task repackaging the anemometer as the weather vane clicks into position and can't be removed. Decided to send the whole thing back to get it all checked.
Didn't receive any acknowledgement from the company that they had received it, expected some response. After a week decided to contact them. They said it was being check and I received it a few days later. All the sensors were working so decided to put them into permanent positions. Another problem, the thread on the brackets for the anemometer were faulty so I could not fix it on the side of my garage as planned, very frustrating. Contacted the company and they sent some replacements.
It has been working for a month and I've had no problems. The rain gauge doesn't detect light rain which is bit disappointing as we had light rain on a number of occasions but obviously doesn't show up when you load the records onto a PC. The temperature sensor is very accurate. I have mercury type one which is very accurate alongside the sensor and the sensor always shows the same reading. I have no objective means of verifying the wind gauge but I have no reason to doubt it, seems to register gusts reasonably accurately.
If this had worked straight out of the box I would have given it 4 stars but with the initial sensor problems-which raises question marks about their durability-and the problem with brackets, coupled with rain gauge reading shortcomings I feel I can give it no more than 3 stars.
This receiver is very easy to set up if the comprehensive instructions are followed and all the ancillary items, rain gauge, sensors etc. are quickly found. I like the display but the contrast could do with turning up a little so it can be viewed in daylight without having to use the attractive blue back light, but for most people with good eyesight it would be fine. The accuracy of all the figures provided is very good so it does what it sets out to do. The atomic clock was quickly found with a good signal for me at least on the south coast but i know some people if different parts of the UK have problems getting a signal due to it being based in Belgium i believe. I also like the wind chill feature via a thermometer built into the anemometer which for me is accurate except when the sun is shining, the warmth transferred from the case raises temperature to above that displayed by the outside thermometer positioned at four foot from the ground.
The temperature alarms are excellent, i have very valuable and tender plants in my greenhouses so if the heating fails for any reason the system alarm will operate at a minimum temperature set by me so it provides a bit of peace of mind.
A few observations, the keyboard could do with repositioning to the top of the unit so it could be used without picking up, if you try to operate the keys whilst it is free standing, the entire unit moves backwards, also, the up and down arrows seem to be the reverse of what they are meant to be which is very odd.
Anemometer, nice little unit but mine arrived with the securing bracket bolts holes incorrectly threaded which resulted in two of the bolts jamming after a couple of turns and in the process of removal, one snapped off. so i had to drill out and fit standard nuts and bolts which is very poor for an expensive item.
Battery covers are secured by ridiculous little Philips screws, they do not even have a captive washer so as you can guess once removed one vanishes never to be seen again as happened with my rain gauge screws. Trying to find a screwdriver to fit these screws is nigh on impossible, i made do with a miniature Philips which removed the things but a small twist lock in each corner would be a far better idea, the back cover does not need screwing down hard as all the battery compartments have a silicon seal which keeps out damp.
Rain gauge is very good in all aspects, no complaints there apart from as already mentioned, battery compartment.
Sensors, i have already done a review on these as i purchased additional units to go with the system, all i will say is that one failed after less than two months so i am not very happy about that.
I've had many of the cheap plastic weather stations over the years like the watson 8681 types but this Sinus is excellent quality! Even when you open the box and pick each piece up you can feel the better quality materials used. A good example of the quality is the metal threads for all of the battery compartment screws. Most cheap weather stations will just use plastic. Only just up and running but everything seems ok so far and as accurate as expected.
