This is a very useful and well laid-out commentary on 1 Peter.
The format: It takes you through the letter specifically with the focus of teaching the book, so provides sermon and Bible study outlines, as well as illustrations and application where appropriate. Because of this it isn't a verse by verse commentary on the Greek text.
The text: it provides a thorough exposition of the text in a digestible way and competent way. But it isn't aiming to take you in detail into each word or verse, so don't buy it if that's what you're after! Instead it draws out the meaning of the text, how it fits into the rest of the passage/ chapter/ letter, and gives you a concise feel for the letter as a whole.
I would recommend it highly for anyone in the process of teaching 1 Peter (whether in sermon, group or one on one setting), but also for personal study, as long as you're happy to skip sermon outlines etc.
