The capacitive screen is great and the overall build quality is solid.
I was a bit concerned about the screen quality before ordering, but it's fine, clear and bright with good colour rendition (the brightness can be changed in settings).
There are some minor problems which are not deal-breakers, such as the on-screen keyboard acting weird when the tablet is plugged in and charging. You can still use the touchscreen though for games/videos etc when this happens. The total memory and storage space as reported by Quick System Info Pro is a bit short of the stated specs. - not sure if this a reporting mismatch or not, but it's not a big problem as you'll most likely want to add a micro SD card for extra storage.
There is sometimes a problem with the wifi reconnecting after being resumed from standby mode, however I haven't had this happen recently so I'm not sure if it's because I turned off "Data enabled" in Mobile network settings or increased the screen timeout.
I decided to order the separate keyboard with case and it's probably a good idea for the price, however since the keyboard just has a full size USB plug, you do need to use a USB host cable for it to work, and not just any old USB connector. If you're interested in using the tablet as a remote client with this keyboard, then installing connectbot-ext-keyboard lets you ssh in to remote hosts with working ctrl and tab keys. Really nice to have something portable with a keyboard that can also function as a touchscreen device.
Battery use on standby does seem to be a bit high but I think this is common among Android devices. But shutting down completely does a good job on preserving the charge, and it doesn't take too long to boot up again.
The Android Market works fine and you could spends hours looking through all the apps. Videos and Youtube look great. Sound output via the headphone jack is excellent quality. The built-in speaker is also fine for what it does. Overall, if you're looking for a versatile Android tablet I can't think of any reason not to get this!
The screen is 1024x600 resolution, and you can make out the pixels, but for a budget tablet, it is not a major concern.
The tablet is really sleek and nice to hold. It has poor quality cameras. The front camera is 0.3 megapixels and the back camera is 0.2 megapixles (which is a bit of a disappointment considering the £49 Amazon Fire 7" has a 2mp rear camera). The rear camera also has not flash, so photos can come out dim if not in bright daylight.
The screen is not very responsive, and often freezes, which can get fairly frustrating after a while of using the tablet. Make sure you put a screen protector on the screen, because the screen is prone to getting scratched by absolutely anything. Also, the power button in slightly slanted and a bit wobbly- this makes it feel very fragile!
The WiFi connectivity on this device is very poor, and videos always buffer.
The sound quality is not the best either- the sound does not go very loud and it always sounds quite contained and slightly muted.
The internal storage is not great- only 8GB but this can be expanded by spending more money on an SD card. The internal processor is also particularly slow
Unfortunately, 4 months after purchase, the tablet suddenly died, and no longer charges.
I do not recommend this tablet, because there are cheaper budget tablets around which are far better value. If you want a tablet, I suggest having another look around amazon.
I bought the Tablet initially as an EReader/Games Player though I must state this is so much more. The Tablet is a perfect size for carrying round and the screen is super clear and the graphics are amazing. Games play superbly, no buffering or stuttering and the best thing is that there are 1000`s of FREE Android Games. One problem I found is that never having had a "smart" anything before was getting to grips with downloading. For instance I wanted to read from my Kobo Library downloaded that but could not get any further. A quick email to Tabtronics (these guys actually answer before you send your email they are that good ha ha) and they said to download the Kobo App. I did that and bingo got my books and library installed. So I know its probably stating the glaringly obvious but if you want to use Ebay download Ebay App, I Player the I Player App simples!!
The first thing I installed was Angry Birds for free and it plays brilliantly and the colours and graphics are just fantastic. I Player again works brilliantly as does Google Maps etc.,
To sum up if you are buying this mainly as an EReader I would not bother. First point the screen is nowhere near the clarity of that of an EReader especially outdoors, having said that I bought a very good quality anti-glare screen and that has helped greatly. Also the battery life of an EReader is a good two weeks mainly which is fantastic, unfortunately the battery life with the Tablet I would estimate to be about 3hours although works perfectly when plugged in. My Husband has to charge his IPhone every day so its not really a problem. I will say though reading on the Tablet indoors is much better than an EReader its a joy and the Tablet is very comfortable in the hand and lightweight.
Another slight problem I had although it was entirely my own fault, was I jiggled the plug out of an awkward socket and the plastic pin snapped off oops!!! So dont jiggle the plug and it should be fine.
The Tablet has done everything I have ever asked it, emails are a breeze and Google works perfectly and quickly. I honestly cannot understand how much better the IPad is to this (and obviously the HUGE difference in price) maybe its quicker, better graphics etc., but I am 100% happy with my bargain bucket little Tablet!!!
