If you are looking for a small starter drone to practice on and get to grips with flying, before you upgrade to a £400+ one, then this is perfect. you can also purchase loads of spares for the inevitable interactions with walls/trees/bushes etc.
Big problems even with light wind. My copter is already stuck in a tree without chance to get it back (Say goodbye!). I've lost control in a hight because of one not really strong burst of wind... That tree was about 25 meters from my place, but in the wind it's unpredactible...
EDIT: That crash accident was my fault! In the wind or everytime when you are flying outside don't forget to change flight mode to Hight speed as I did :) But in a little bit stronger wind rather stay at home.
The Syma is fairly easy to control and light enough that it bounces quite readily when it crashes. Its lack of bulk means it's also quite susceptible to wind, but at least it is big enough to fly outside where there's plenty of space to play with.
Comes with a reasonable 1080p camera. I also bought the extra batteries so I have plenty of flight time. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06Y642ZYD/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_22
Headless mode makes it easier when you can't see direction it's pointing,
meaning you can rotate and pan for filming and still easily control it.
It doesn't seem to fly against even light wind very well when high up,
i.e. hovers ok, but wouldn't fly into the wind?! (I think this is "wind bug" a known issue)
Nearly lost it a few times due to this, and end up cutting throttle to drop it rather than drift away.
It's pretty indestructable crash landing on grass.
Remove landing gear and prop guards for weight.
The drone arrived neatly packaged and (although pigeon english) clear set up instructions. It also comes with spare blades which is handy in case of crash. One battery is supplied with the drone, however more batteries are easily purchased and are relatively inexpensive. (Roughly 10 pounds for 4 batteries).
The camera is fairly good quality, and activated from the remote controller. The photos and videos are easily viewed from the SD card (4GB card provided) on the computer. It also comes with a USB adapter.
The drone flys well, although a little unstable in the wind it generally stabilises itself using the gyroscope. It is fairly easy to pick up basic flying functions and then advance to more complex movements. The actual body of the drone feels low quality, but for the price this is understandable. The battery takes roughly 1.5-2hours to charge and lasts about 7 minutes flying.
Overall, I would definitely recommend for a starter drone. If it is picture quality and experienced flying you are looking for, I would probably look at others.
This is easily one of the best drones you can buy at the price point. It flies for a respectable 5 minutes and handles well. Camera quality in picture mode is great, the video mode is a bit grainy but you can't fault the drone too much for that. I recommend you order more batteries. I ordered 5 addition batteries with a 5 charger and it makes everything that much better.
The only problem with this drone is not the drone itself but rather the controller. The two joy sticks are are fine and all that, but it's how you apply trim. Rather than having potentiometers (wheels) they have tri-action buttons. (You can push them up/down as well as in) The problem is that rather than fine trim adjustment, you can't get anything close to being respectable. You will always over or under trim and in large steps.
It's a shame the controller has such a major issue. The drone itself is amazing.
