I have recorded games from the PS4 with 2 capture cards, a Avermedia game broadcaster HD and a Blackmagic Intensity pro.
I'm using it to record from my box to my computer so that I can watch the content at double the speed. I would not recommend using this product for copying content to sell, but for private use I'm sure it's fine. Many people use this to record their gameplay and upload it to youtube. It's perfect for that, also.
This box is approximately 2 inches square, and has an input for the device you wish to output, and 2 output sockets to send the signal to the two devices you'd like to output to, in my case my television and my Rocket. Some people use these splitters to send an HD signal to 2 televisions, for example one in the living room and one in the bedroom.
I haven't had any issues with this device since I got it a few weeks ago, and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to output one HD source to two different inputs.
Amp is HDCP 2.2 compliant, TV is 1080p. TV displayed image when connected straight to V6, but an error shows when connected via amp. This is documented widely as a HDCP handshake issue.
After reading reviews, i bought this, hoping to fix my problem. It worked as i hoped. Stripping the HDCP, allowing me to connect the V6 through the amp, then to the tv. So i can now use the same setup as before, no changing channels etc. Also means i get audio and video over hdmi, amp is displaying DIG and PCM on display (Denon AVRX2300W) so have no reason to think i wont be getting Dolby Digital when i finally find a program broadcasting in it. Everything so far seems to be broadcasting in PCM 2.0.
The one i received did not have any branding on it, yet still stripped HDCP.
It is all very well having these extensive Piracy Laws; they however should be used to stop digital copyright piracy, not to prevent law abiding citizens from exercising their legal right to view whatever they have legitimately purchased. As always, Might is Right and the paying public can go hang.
A word to the Digital Audio and Visual Industry’s. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER! Do what you’re paid to do, and that is not to penalize the general public at large just so you can stop a few miscreants.
The output (make sure everything is off before attaching it all - turn everything back on and it’s perfect! (I just had to make sure the same hdmi channel on the surround sound matched the same channel on the tv 👍 - so far so good!
Now the problem. Every few minutes the screen would go blank and tell me that it was searching for a source. This was more pronounced for the firestick. I tried the recommend power up sequence of projector, AV receiver then source. This only helped a little. The screen would continually blank out.
I read up on HDCP handshake issues which can occur with amps and also with long HDMI cable runs. Then came across this little box as a way to strip HDCP.
The fix. With the hdmi cable plugged into the amp, I connected the other end to this hdmi switch and then fed the projector from the output1 port. And hey presto, I've not had a single blank screen. I was pulling my hair out thinking I'd need to run a new HDMI cable, especially annoying as mine is hidden in the ceiling.
This little box has worked wonders and if anyone else is having trouble with a similar set up to mine, then don't hesitate.
Btw I'm not recording anything untoward, I record video games and sometimes they get blocked by HTCP.
