I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
Their distaste for each other is mutual. Two weeks is all they need to survive; two weeks can change everything.
Where do I begin with this story...? I literally loved every page. From start to finish I was enthralled into Shelby and Zach's story. Kathryn Andrews has delivered an excellent story, written both beautifully, and captivating. She has this magical way with words that has your heart so full of love, and admiration, it almost feels like it could burst at any moment.
Shelby is adorable; she's talented, creative, honest, determined, and has a strength so strong, it's hard to take down her walls. I loved her bubbly, and confident personality, how happy, carefree, and friendly she was. The friendships she had with Meg and Lexi were wonderful, they were loyal, and supportive to each other, ready to give the other a push in the right direction if needed.
Zach is an enigma, I wanted so desperately to understand him, and discover why he had the views he had; when at the same time I felt I should be wanting to crawl into my kindle and slap him for being so rude, and horrid towards Shelby. He had this underlying charm about him, he was arrogant towards Shelby, and yet to everyone else he was this sweet, caring, troubled man, that I so desperately wanted to hug.
The way that Kathryn Andrew’s described each finer detail had me living every taste right along with Shelby. I could also picture the beautiful places Shelby described. I would love to experience the things Shelby did, and cook as amazingly as she does. I will definitely have to check out the recipes suggested at the end of each chapter, what a wonderful idea to add to a book. If it wasn’t for me needing to devour this story, I’d have checked out each recipe as I read.
This story is for ALL contemporary romance readers. You won’t regret buying this book!
Shelby has always had the dream of getting a job on Food Network. She is on her way as a co-owner of a successful restaurant in Charleston, SC and a blog. She is also a critic and a chef. She has good friends but no love life to speak of. Her one set-up by her friend was disastrous. The guy was good looking but treated her horribly on their first and last date.
Zach is a former football player, and now is trying to save his family’s winery in Dahlonega, Georgia. He will do anything to salvage his business after a critic left a horrible review of it. Yeah, he HATES critics, so when he found out the woman he was set up with on a date was a food critic, he ended really before it started without knowing whether she was the guilty critic. In his mind, they are all guilty and evil!
Now, Zach and Shelby are being given a once in a lifetime chance to reach their dreams, but they have no idea they are meeting each other again after that disastrous date. They have no warm feelings whatsoever for each other. Yes, the sparks fly. Underneath all that animosity is an incredible attraction. They aren’t sure whether to strangle one another or to rip each other’s clothes off! This is where the romance and spice comes in!
I liked both characters. They were both driven, intelligent, and stubborn! I just wanted them to get their heads out of the sand and see what was right in front of them, and that they could possibly realize their dreams together. Zach was oh so sexy and was even sexier when Shelby would get him all wound up. Their chemistry sizzled and gave me butterflies! Not only was the romance great, but the story, itself, was awesome. It was extremely well-written with fantastic secondary characters. Like I wrote earlier, it was full of good wine and good food. I learned some things I didn’t know about wine and how well certain wines and foods paired together…just like Zach and Shelby. My mouth watered with all the good food, and recipes were included at the end of each chapter…YES!!! I loved the setting both in South Carolina and Georgia. I am a born and bred South Carolina girl, and I live in Northwest Georgia, so I know both places really well. Both are just as beautiful as Andrews described them.
I always love when a title reflects what the core of the book is about, and Andrews couldn’t have chosen a better title…The Sweetness of Life. We all have dreams like Zach and Shelby, but sometimes those change into ones we never even considered. When you find the person to live those dreams with make life all the more sweeter!!!! I’m anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!

This book was beautifully written with mouthwatering recipes leaving the reader to devour them. The characters were perfection; Shelby’s determination and strength versus Zach's arrogant and troublesome personality is what makes these two polar opposites; the perfect recipe for sweetness.
Kathryn did a remarkable job with this story. The pull from the beginning kept me invested until the end. The emotional pull and constant tug of war is what loves all about and in this book it was brilliantly crafted.
The recipes that were given and the description of places that Shelby describes, gives your taste buds are workout and your imagination wanting to be beamed up into this beautiful story. I absolutely loved how the author left the recipes in here for everyone to try out; a very clever idea.
This book is a contemporary romance book and would definitely recommend it to anyone
Shelby owns a restaurant with her best friend she also writes magazine articles and runs her own food blog.
Zach runs his families winery and when he's asked to spend two weeks with Shelby at his vineyard for an article sparks fly.
They have a love hate relationship from the get go but the more time they spend together will it turn into more.
A great read, one I would highly recommend and be sure to check out the recipes at the end of each chapter they are a great added bonus.

The secondary characters were fun, and I found myself curious as to all of their back-stories: Meg, Lexi, Kyle, Michelle...what makes them who they are? I'd love to know more about them for sure. Let's hope Ms. Andrews is "cooking" up their stories as we speak (pun definitely intended!).
I think that what I really enjoyed most, though, was all the detail. I loved the formatting, with the wine bottles as a part of the "Z" in Zach's chapters, the bees, and even what I'm assuming went into the creation of Shelby's name. The aspect that set it above the rest was the recipes included in each chapter. You can tell that the author put a lot of thought and work into her research in addition to her storytelling. Bravo <3
What a sweet read it was in so many ways!
I loved seeing Shelby allow her walls to come down and live life, without a plan. Thank you for your words. I can't wait foe the next book! Never stop writing!!
