L M Mountford sets out to write a story and she knows how to write well. I didn’t know the book was British, as I tend to read a lot of American books. So it was refreshing to open the story at a party at a Premier Inn on the outskirts of Gloucester. There was a good description of the main character at the party and driving home, it occurred to me that an American reader would enjoy this typically British description of town area and the layout of the apartments they lived in.
And the Rest
Richard succumbs to temptation as he finds the babysitter too difficult to resist. This was hot and steamy stuff with her luring him into her bedroom and them making out. Nothing was left to the imagination!
For me, I felt the third part of the book was missing. I wanted to know what and if his wife found out about him dallying with the babysitter. Unfortunately, it didn't go into that and left me wondering. As Richard’s apartment was just below and his wife was there, the noise they were making surely would have been heard.
As he left to go back down, would he get into the shower before his wife got to him? That’s if she hadn’t heard already heard the racket they making! I wanted Richard to get his comeuppance. I wanted to see him get into trouble for it!
But, it wasn’t to be and if you like erotica, you will like this well-written story.
The intriguing fun starts with the early Christmas party at his firm when his boss corners him. She is young, tempting, a bit scary in a dominating way and clearly wants him to submit. Too bad for her that his wife Alice comes to take him away. He is more than glad as she scares him a little but it makes you intrigued as to how she would act if Alice hadn’t.
Back at home its time to deal with the babysitter. Seems she has a problem she needs his help with – though I think we all know what game she is playing. I think Alice knows she has a crush on him but until she mentioned it Richard never really thought about it. A passionate kiss ignites his mind to wonder to places it shouldn’t. Seems his fantasy might soon become a reality. Is he about to fall? Will he even feel guilty if he does? He likes the excitement of what he is doing but how long before reality sets in?
Well we know how this one will play out and yes they are very heated together after just one kiss. A spark to set them off but its putting them down a dangerous path that will only end in heartbreak for all involved. Not too sure I liked the fact he didn’t really feel guilty, just kind of detached from the situation. Kind of letting the body take over and the mind switch off. I’m thinking the mind will come back on with a force though once he gets back home though.
Good flow with the story even with it being a short but some parts where a bit too descriptive. Like the journey home almost describing everything they passed rather than the characters talking.Read more ›
Richards life is in bit of a rut,he seems to be having a midlife criss. It doesn't help that his wife is somewhat distant and what seems overbearing at time, but that could be fact she's a working mum.
Richard is led into temptation by the babysitter, but can he resist?
The book was a short novel and was well written. I felt that the beginning part of the book explaining the work party Richard Martin is at was a little long and boring but I understand why the author wrote it. It lays the foundation down for the next book in the series. So up front this is mainly a book about the Richard Martin who cheats on his wife Alice with the babysitter named Rebecca. I whole heartily believe that Richard was an honest man and wouldn’t do something like that to his wife. When a seed in planted in a man’s head it festers and grows into something more. Rebecca was watching their son while they were at Richard’s company holiday party. When they returned home, Rebecca asked Richard if he could help her with the computer at her flat before her dad returned from work and she got in trouble. Richard agreed but before he went upstairs to Rebecca’s flat, his wife made him all hot and bothered and plus it had been a month since they had sex. She made he hard and horny and then talked about how beautiful she is and told Richard how Rebecca watches his every move and smiles when he comes into a room. Richard went to go help Rebecca and the thoughts in Richard’s mind ( and I would like to point out from his wife mentioning it) about Rebecca were played out into action. Let me make a point and say that Rebecca the babysitter is 21 years of age and is not underage at all. Rebecca tells Richard that she has always wanted him. Needless to say, Richard and Rebecca have wild crazy sex and the rest of the book is describing the sex scene. I thought it was well written. Most of you are probably thinking he cheated on his wife, but his wife shouldn’t have put this thoughts in his head from the beginning.Read more ›
