The book was a short novel and was well written. I felt that the beginning part of the book explaining the work party Richard Martin is at was a little long and boring but I understand why the author wrote it. It lays the foundation down for the next book in the series. So up front this is mainly a book about the Richard Martin who cheats on his wife Alice with the babysitter named Rebecca. I whole heartily believe that Richard was an honest man and wouldn’t do something like that to his wife. When a seed in planted in a man’s head it festers and grows into something more. Rebecca was watching their son while they were at Richard’s company holiday party. When they returned home, Rebecca asked Richard if he could help her with the computer at her flat before her dad returned from work and she got in trouble. Richard agreed but before he went upstairs to Rebecca’s flat, his wife made him all hot and bothered and plus it had been a month since they had sex. She made he hard and horny and then talked about how beautiful she is and told Richard how Rebecca watches his every move and smiles when he comes into a room. Richard went to go help Rebecca and the thoughts in Richard’s mind ( and I would like to point out from his wife mentioning it) about Rebecca were played out into action. Let me make a point and say that Rebecca the babysitter is 21 years of age and is not underage at all. Rebecca tells Richard that she has always wanted him. Needless to say, Richard and Rebecca have wild crazy sex and the rest of the book is describing the sex scene. I thought it was well written. Most of you are probably thinking he cheated on his wife, but his wife shouldn’t have put this thoughts in his head from the beginning.

First let me say, I don't agree with a cheating spouse. However this is fiction and I really hope that Richard knows what he did is wrong. He did think of his wife and how she would react should she find out. That being said this novella started out slow for me. All the talk about the officer holiday party was boring. When Scarlett appeared I so thought get and Richared was going to have a tryst right there. Scarlett is one of them woman who gets around lol. If Alice didn't appear I believe Scarlett would of made her move.
When Richard and Alice left the party for home there was that uncomfortable silence. Getting home they relieved the babysitter. This is where the hot steamy sex comes in. Rebecca their babysitter asked for help with her computer. Oh Richard helped her with that and more. Richard did have a few thoughts of stopping what he was doing, but the more he progressed the more he wanted Rebecca. The ending however threw me. She wants more than one night, but he isn't sure. I want to know did Alice hear them? The author had mentioned that Richard lived below Rebecca in the building. Did Alice hear Rebecca, did she hear the bed clanking? How did she act when Richard finally returned home? I guess we will have to find that out in the next installment.

The set up is simple. A husband with a young baby, frustrated, hating his job, subjected to border-line bullying by his superiors, has to endure an office party before going home and helping the babysitter (who lives in the flat above) to mend her computer.

So far, so good. It's a classic erotica plot, well-thought out with colourful, convincing characters. The babysitter is 16, nubile and blonde, and his wife is dark, feisty and sexy. I'm not sure why Richard was compelled to bang the girl when the woman was obviously up for it and willing to wait for him, but bang her he did. And how.

The sex starts with a slow burn and even though I was thinking, why are you doing this, you total wanker? It sort of worked in a "peeping through the letterbox and seeing something you shouldn't" kind of way.

The upshot was, it wasn't my thing but I can see that a lot of people would get off on it. For me, Richard was too much of a weed and he redeemed himself too late, plus he was a bastard for the way he acted at the end. I just didn't fancy him enough to forgive him, but don't let that put you off.

Richard is married to Alice and they have a toddler, they live in a towerblock and have an average life. Having a young child there relationship isn't what it was and Alice gets jealous very easily. When a co worker comes on to her husband Alice gets territorial, I thought that was fun. Having dodged a difficult situation at the works party he heads home not realising his about to be in another difficult place, this one he won't be able to resist.

The babysitter obviously has eyes for the older man and when she gets her chance she take it and it's steamy.

I enjoyed this short read which appears will be a serial book, it's has a realistic feel, no millionaires and posh parties, just an office worker being tempted to cheat on his wife. It described the work Christmas do well and showed Richard to be a decent guy other than cheating!

This book is written in British English and has British terminology.
