About the Author

Paul Lowe, who was born in Oslo, has been a food and craft stylist for more than twenty years. His work has appeared in Real Simple, Parents, Better Homes and Gardens, Country Living, Good Housekeeping, Cooking Light, Food Network, and Cosmopolitan.

ALEXANDRA GRABLEWSKI is a well-known food and beverage photographer whose work has appeared in Gourmet, Martha Stewart Living, Real Simple, Better Homes and Gardens, and Wine Spectator, as well as in many cookbooks.

This is a charming book, with a variety of projects and recipes in it. There's everything from making your own personalised napkins, spice bowls made from children's modelling clay, a trivet made from old fashioned wooden pegs.... Then there's the smoked trout salad with hard boiled eggs, Mormor's fish pie, and pasta with roasted butternut squash, garlic and lemon.

Ordinarily, I would list everything in the book, but in this particular case i think it would rob it of some of its charm. I'm assuming you've reached Sweet Paul because of his blog, in which case this book won't disappoint. Not one to pick up on an emergency supper night, but a book to pore over on a Sunday morning with a cup of tea...

The book is esthetically appealing – everybody picks it up and reads for a while when I have it on my table. The food and handicraft projects are absolutely doable without too much hassle. I find Sweet Paul’s imperfect attitude liberating. Go glue guns!

This is the type of book that will keep you coming back for more. You can easily cook and craft your way through the entire thing! Each page more beautiful than the next. Perfect for those who appreciate simple recipes that inspire. Gorgeous images, tasteful DIY ideas, and fantastic fuss-free show-stopping recipes! I've already made the roasted chicken with olives and lemon; perfection. It's made it into my weekly rotation. World's Best Cake is up next!

Though I am no cook, I am committed to attempting several dishes based solely on their simple yet unexpected combination of ingredients. We all love Sweet Paul! From his wonderful blog to his gorgeous magazine and now to his book - the name says it all, Sweet Paul.

His recipes challenge your taste buds to accept new and different flavors together in the same dish.

His crafts are so clever and so easy - most are great to do with children. To almost all of them I ask myself "Why didn't I think of that?

His pictures of residences and environments capture a scene and somehow just provoke the creative spirit.

Every since I made a plum cake recipe from one of the magazines I've been a grateful fan of Sweet Paul's sensibilities and recipes. So when this book came out we bought one for ourselves and a couple for friends. I'm slowly working my way through it food-wise and I have to say it's everything I expected.

I cannot stop looking through this book. I plan to make a dinner from it every week ... and cannot decide where to start. All of the recipes look and sound delicious.
