I found this story an ok read. Not quite a five but I did read to the end. Lots of errors in the writing which I overlooked to finish the story. I would read another book by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sweet love like ours 1 July 2013

This story is the best I have read in some time. Gloria and Akio are two people that deserved a real love, a strong love and a lasting love. The story showed how the family that should love you and your choices in life can sometimes be the cause of the most painful type of love. Gloria and Akio made all of the right choices to make their life a happy one. This was a wonderful story, and will remain a favorite that I will recommend to others.

3.0 out of 5 stars Skimmed on the details 29 Jun. 2013

Story had potential. However, i felt that the the story lacked depth - like the author played it too safe and convenient. There were real potential for conflict until the main antagonist was conveniently neutralized (don't want to give anything away). I would have liked a more in depth read. For me, the story is in the small details. However, I must give kudos to the author for contriving an interracial love story with an African American woman and Asian male leads.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read 22 Jun. 2013

I loved this book. Akio and Gloria both had problems with family not excepting them as a couple. But they were able to overcome the obstacles. You will love them. I hope that Akio's brother Jiro gets a story.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Stormy Sweet Love 28 Aug. 2014

Hayden Ash just became one of my favorite authors. Its rare when an interracial romance book touch the issue of racism, painful love, family secrets and woes without being soap opera-ish. Akio and Gloria is made for each other, both being broken people hiding behind the masks of perfection. In need of true love that can heal the most shattered of souls. I loved after Akio's hurtful blunder he tried to have Gloria back in his life after his father had an heart-to heart talk with his son about love, life, and death. When they meet again the words were of love, hurt, fear and soulful promises. Not the usual you hurt me I'm going to hurt you. [ Which I was thankful for! :) ] Yes Gloria had her blunder or two, But Akio worked it out with her instead of blaming her and walking off into the sunset. After the storm Akio and Gloria finally get their happy ending; with a few strenuous family relationships.

2.75 stars. Dr. Akio "Kee" Narita, MD., the male lead, is interested in establishing a relationship with the heroine; he is likeable, genuine in his feelings and does all he can to show this to Gloria. The heroine, Gloria Johnson on the other hand is distant, mean and not likable. During Akio's and Gloria's introduction in her friends crowded entry way, they bump heads, he apologies, her friend gets ice and aspirin, Gloria sulks and is rude and ill-mannered toward Akio for the duration of the evening; through the first quarter of the story she blames her behavior on the untimely death of her first husband. Sorry Ms Ash, you created a character that you could not redeem by having her confront a proliferation of tragic events and hateful insults.
