It's black but under light the dial seems to be a very dark purple. There is no glancing at this watch. As others have said it's hard to read. The day and date can be found after thorough examination as this is VERY hard to read. Is that bad? No! I wanted a stylish, understated completely black watch. It looks amazing. i see the above 'design faults' to be a necessary evil for the complete black feel I was looking for. All in all..Great watch!

    Yes it makes a ticking sound but some people like that and it's a Watch after all. Yes it is hard to see the hands in low lighting but who cares? that is the 'look'. keeps very good time (Swiss made I think) and looks great in my opinion. It is well built but possibly not going to withstand heavy pounding because it is a fashion watch. The upside of this is that it's nice and lightweight which makes it comfortable in comparison to steel material watches. No more paying for battery changes because it has a 'hatch' in the case-back so user can change battery. Have worn Swatches in the Swimming pool before and they were fine so I'm guessing this model will be. It's certainly splash-proof anyway.

    i bought this watch as a present for my boyfriend, the design is really cool and he liked it very much but we had some problems to set the date because in the beginning we just couldn t turn the crown! after five minutes suddenly it worked and is everything ok since. But, as with everyone these days, if I really need to know the time, date or day I can look at my phone. So it's a relatively cheap watch that looks good and tells the time. It doesn't count how far I've walked or what record how much sleep I've had but it's nice to look at!
