Omg where do I start? I absolutely loved this story! Maddy was just delightful. Beautiful one liners which had me laughing out loud, a gorgeous Hollywood movie star and a wonderful fairy tale of deception, lust and love. 10/10!

This was a thoroughly enjoyable Cinderella tale in our times - begins as a `bridget Jones` minus the humour then evolves into a fairy tale happy ever after. Not a brain read but a lovely one that leaves the hope that any duckling can become the swan and Prince Charming isn't restricted to any particular feminine demographic. Go Maddy!

I started reading this at 5am this morning and couldn't put it down! It was funny and romantic just as described, it is definitely a 'feel good' book.We all love happy endings and I defy anyone that says they don't after reading this. I am sure this touches a small part of all of us that believe or want to believe in fairy tales . I am still smiling and will probably continue to do so for the rest of the day thanks to this book!!! Highly recommended for when you feel a little down and need the reassurance that no matter what anything is possible.

I really enjoyed Swan! I devour novels from all genres, and I even like to get in touch with my feminine side from time to time. I was first attracted by the eye catching cover and the lively synopsis but it didn't take long for the quality of Katherine Hole's writing to grab me hook, line and sinker.
This is a romance for our times, a clever twist on the chick lit staple. I enjoyed every page and will be looking out for more by this author. Definitely a winner and not just for women.

I quite liked this story, having downloaded it when it was a freebie and not being 100% sure whether it would be my thing. Madeline "Maddy" Smith is 41 years old, thinks she is over the hill, hates her job in a call centre, has not been in a relationship for many years, does not have many friends and to top it off, her favourite actor is presumed dead after a boating accident. So when David Powell moves into the flat next to her, Maddy is overcome with situations and emotions that she is not familiar with. The storyline itself and how it all eventually pans out is admittedly rather predictable, but the story is well-written and I think that it is the character of Maddy that, for me, turned what could have been an OK story into something that was easy to read and not wish to put down. I think many of us know someone like Maddy (or know someone who could end up in Maddy's situation at the start of the story). Maddy's workplace stories and relationships with David and her sister Beth help make Maddy come across as a real person who can be identified with in some way. There are some romance stories out there that have perhaps done a better job with this theme, but Swan is certainly an enjoyable and comfortable romance novel that I would recommend to anyone who likes that genre.

This is a great book for those days when the work load is piling up, everyone wants a piece of you and the concentration is shot. It is a well written modern fairy tale that is lifted out of the ordinary by the authors sense of humour. Some lovely one liners! And Maddy, the heroine, with her rampant insecurities, is all too believable, even if the schizophrenic hero is not. But that's the point, really. Very light reading, but fun.
